    Wish list

Many thoughts over charging and batteries: I'd like a relatively well concealed battery a la sparta ion or cytronex, I'd like a battery that i can replace on the open market. (real wishy stuff at the minute!) The option to remove the battery to charge with a seperate charger. The...

    Touching up (oo-er missus!)

yeah all my other bikes have black tape over them  , or dabs of paint but i love them less, with the exception of my tourer where every scar is a happy memory.

    Touching up (oo-er missus!)

thanks Flecc, i thought you might say something like that... Is the general idea to add a layer, use wet and dry paper. Repeat until correct?

    Interesting blog

I found this interesting blog today. I thought it might interest some of the technically minded people and it looks like they cover the whole gamut of bike innovation. We're all technology adaptors here, so..... Bicycle Design

what do you think intelligent e-bike would?

Following on from Fleccs genius suggestions, i think all 3 of his features are great, but i think you'd want a handlebar manual override function on 1 as well, so that you could manually set the cadence to power response. mmmm

    Touching up (oo-er missus!)

My lovely Agattu has a scratch on its paint work :( You guys must know a million great ways to touch it up. Any suggestions? I'm thinking model enamel or brompton black touchup paint. But how can i get it looking shiny afterwards?

    Puncture Prevention?

Flecc: Ouch! I feel for those spokes, although i'm sure your doing something cunning. My Wife fixed a puncture yesterday by going into the local bike shop with baby and looking helpless. Took 10 minutes! Thats as fast as my roadside changes!

    Puncture Prevention?

I agree Flecc, but hub gear bikes just put me off roadside tube changes. The amount of times i've spent in the pitch black, a bike light between my teeth, by the side of a road, scraping through long grass trying to find the bolt i've fumbled in the dark..... Helpful passer-by's are amazing...

    Puncture Prevention?

lol the puncture repair kit post made me laugh. Again 21st century , pop into any bike shop (apparently not halfords  ) and you can buy puncture repair patches (i do believe there is a green slime branded make). These are like stickers. Peel em off and stick em on. Job done. The...

    Puncture Prevention?

Musicbooks, do you have a debilitating lung condition or are you still using 20th century pumps? Teasing aside you want to get a cycleair . I've had one for a couple of years now. I still occasionally use my track pump but to be honest its more work to get it out of the shed. PS All.... re...

Easiest type of panniers to fit and remove?

Hi! I feel your pain! My first panniers were a 'mare to get off. Then i got some nice Vaude ones that had the 'modern' pull up mechanism. Subsequently i got some ortliebs with the same mech, but a better clip. The 'modern' design relies on using a pannier hand grip that opens the clips. So...

Agattu Light Failure. What to look for?

So there were 2 wires that connect to the mudguard from the light. They were intact. Then i guess the current runs thru the mudguard. I couldnt work out how the mudguard to frame connection works Then theres some wires from the dynamo to the frame that seem ok.

Agattu Light Failure. What to look for?

Hi All, The rear lights failed on my Agattu (front one still works). I tried taking it apart to check the bulb, but the bulb seems to be welded into the circuit board so i'm nervous about pulling it out. Anyone any experiecne with these lights and could point out what to look for and how...

Do you think that e-bikes have a role to play in sustainable transport in the UK?

Just a comment on the safety issue. It is a barrier, but one that i've found has never stopped anyone i know, because its a 'false barrier' not a real one. I've convinced people to cycle by demonstrating how expesnive it is to NOT cycle. I've also convinced people that it is far more...

What were the main worries queries you had before purchasing your e-bike?

Whether I could test ride it or not. Who would fix it if it went wrong. Availability of parts. Real world range and speed. Re-assured on strength of 2reviews for agattu (flecc and a2b) and personal experience of having previosuly claimed money via small courts when someone wouldnt...

Advantages and disadvantages of e-bikes over conventional bikes?

Advantage: No need to shower when I arrived at work. Fun to ride. Good load carriers Great hill climbers Disadvantage: Far Too Heavy (my birdy is 11kg). If i bought a cheap roadbiek it would be ~10-11kg. Hugely more exspensive on running costs (battery replacement and motor failure)...

Do you think that e-bikes have a role to play in sustainable transport in the UK?

Yes. Hugely. Even the dutch think so, where ebike sales are canniblaisng conventional bikes. I partly blame the UK ebike shops AND the UK bike shops. I think they need to be much more direct in their sales and in thsi day and age spell out the true costs of not cycling. If i stood with a...
