Cytronex - the first 2000 miles

I totally agree about the battery ranges and can understand the variance which is down to rider effort, stop/start riding, hills, rider weight, temperature, wind etc etc etc. I get about 20 miles per charge but it has varied between 17 & 25+. The range fits my requirements perfectly. I...

Independent or Multi? ''USE US OR LOSE US''

I have 2 local bike shops and they are both excellent. Halfords is a tad closer but they really don't compare. I don't find there's much difference in price if any. Also the choice is much better and the advice is excellent. On that note Tenderbehind, and with reference to an earlier thread...

Totally OT - Biker jailed for doing 122mph

The ultimate post would be someone owning up to doing over 100mph on an electric bike and not wearing a cycle helmet. And before they post a crash helmet doesn't count.:D

Hi Bob It got lost. So not sure what you've been reading.

    Cytronex review

Ian: Reassuring that you've done 2000 miles. Mines had far too easy a life. I'd be interested to know how the batteries holding up since presumably it's had about 100 recharges and in theory I guess the miles per charge starts dropping off. Unless you are using 2 batteries.

    Cycling in rain?

Yeah, I agree they are things to avoid. Not to mention potholes, gritting, ice, hawthorn trimmings, glass and those nasty crossed of areas of the road where all the bits of rubbish and discarded metalwork collect. Also fords can be a bit scary this time of the year.

    Cytronex review

Thanks for that. It was interesting. I've only done about 650 miles on mine and I kept it off the road once the gritters started. I've checked the bike over a few times but apart from tightening the odd nut a bit I've not had to do any maintenance work. Eveything is as purchased with Gel...

Done it for the first time....but...

Hi Mussels Yes there could be some confusion because it's a very confusing and extensive range of pumps. Not sure about the mini pump bit. The one I have is about 13.5" long which is quite short but not really mini. Mines a Topeak Morph Road G MasterBlaster. The road G means it's more...

    Idea for converting existing bikes

They only last a couple of years and capacity drops off after 12 months. Bit like batteries. Hill climbing might be a struggle.

    Cytronex review

I keep checking the reviews but I haven't seen anything yet. I'm feeling a bit lonely of late on the forum and sadly I get excited when I see the word Cytronex get a mention. I've started putting a review together myself. To be honest I didn't think there was much interest since Cytronex had...

Totally OT - Biker jailed for doing 122mph

I stick to the limit + or minus a bit. It's not worth the risk and the difference to the journey times isn't that great. Most drivers seem to think the same. 10 years ago if a sign on the motorway said 50MPH it was pretty much ignored. Now if a traffic management sign says 20MPH people slow...

Totally OT - Biker jailed for doing 122mph

Maestro: Speed must be something of a geographical issue or maybe it's at weekends when I'm at home in bed. I rarely see cars doing much more than 75MPH nowadays. Actually come to think of it, it's rare they're doing much more than 60MPH!. I remember the M40and M42 when they were brand new...

Totally OT - Biker jailed for doing 122mph

Yes, surprised me at first glance. However his 14 year old son had no protective gear on at all  Also I've no idea what the road conditions were like at the time - A361 North Devon link road. The judge was sending a message out. Most of us stick to well below 30 on our electric...

Done it for the first time....but...

Using a Master Blaster, the above would be so easy and it would take next to no effort to get to 65psi. I've never needed to start all over again. They are small. light, easy to push on, clamp, and pull off from the valve. The pressure seems to go up so quick it doesn't seem right given such...

Done it for the first time....but...

You're probably right there. But spare the pump and spoil the tyre (and the speed). I tend to keep mine now at 90 - 110 PSI (not a Wisper owner!). I had a puncture in my first 100 miles followed by a 3 mile walk home. So lots of sympathy with Johanna and anyone else who gets caught out. At...

I hope it's not lost. I look forward to reading it. I have a question. What were the useful tips about the brakes about?

Lidl - lots of cycling stuff from 26/2

No offence intended to Eddieo and certainly not intended as a rebuffal. Just that this exact topic had been well covered the previous week. I know because I already had the date in my diary and, oh yes, it's still on screen as "Lidl Cycle Clothing 2009" from Seataltea. Small wonder it got hijacked.

    Cytronex.

Hi Mike I've had a Cytronex since last September and it's been a great bike. One of the best purchases I've ever made. The range of about 20 Miles, assisted, per charge wouldn't suit the long distance riders though. I take it you've checked out the 2 web sites www.cytonex.com and...
