Which Bike Or should I get a kit

The Halfords scheme works differently. If he hasn't already he should call or email the number of the people running the scheme at Halfords in Redditch. They told me that they could provide an electric bike through the Electric Transport Shop only. That was last summer though and things may have...

I'm beginning to hate (some) cyclists

You're right there Footie. Thinking about this there been a couple of occassions where I could have overtaken what looked to be quite strong cyclists (moderate uphill of course). I held back and in one case braked a couple of times to slow down. I just don't have the killer instinct! Yeah...

I'm beginning to hate (some) cyclists

It's not that surprising. There's a small minority of these characters out on the road everywhere. Most of them are driving BMWs or white vans. They're aggresive and totally unreasonable. Maybe their brains are wired up wrong. Anyway bad luck. I'd have been tempted to let him overtake and then...

Which Bike Or should I get a kit

I thought the Wisper was available from The Electric Transport Shop. Halfords told me last year that that was who they dealt with. My company is in the same scheme. Electric Bike Sales - Shop Online for Electric Bikes, Electric Vehicles and Cycle Accessories Have things changed or are you...

    Had a puncture

Last time I had a puncture I pushed the bike home and repaired it at home. I'll admit it took me ages. The main problem was finding the hole. I had to resort to a using a bucket of water. Even when I found it it was still impossible to actually see it. I also took the time to vacuum out the...

    sinclair C5 for sale!

Not really saying much though. More popular in this case isn't even remotely popular. I'll wager we never see the like of the C5 ever again anywhere. Edit: Except the Low countries apparently.

Do you stand when you should be sitting?

I don't stand on the pedal going up hill at all. I often stand on the pedal on rough ground or pavement etc. It's to get my bum off the seat.

New to E-Biking - First impressions

I can almost hear the sound of Flecc accessing his folder :D The Wisper 905SE is one of the good bikes because of it's overall design and gearing etc. There is still some overall drag though as with most e bikes. See Fleccs posts in " Cytronex vs. Alien "Special" "

    What happens at 25 km/hr?

Yes I too agree with Caph. I have the Tongxin 175RPM hub motor. I did consider splashing out and getting the 190RPM which might get me a mile or per hour additional assistance. I decided I'd rather invest in another battery instead because I'm actually ok with the 15.5MPH limit. I don't potter...

    Fell of my scooter today

Sorry to hear that footie. It must be Friday - my first thought was what's a cow doing in a car! Pity you didn't have the video strapped to your helmet. It might have caught the reg plate. Not stopping at the scene and all that. Hope nothings broken and have a good painfree weekend.

What happens when you cant get a replacement battery ?

I'm hoping for a light weight Lifepo4 type battery that you can fit in a bottle, lasts 10,000 charges, recharges in an hour and does 40 miles on a full charge - winter or summer. Fat chance though.

Anyone else ordered Trek nano (Cytronex)?

Even 8 miles would be of use to me so maybe with some care I can squeeze plenty of mileage out of it. It took me quite a while to understand the difference between Lithium batteries and NIMH and all that after I bought my bike (thanks Flecc). I've come to appreciate that purchasing NIMH isn't a...

Anyone else ordered Trek nano (Cytronex)?

Just to add that to my knowledge Cytronex haven't actually stated what the product offering and cost are going to be this year (Wild guess - Presteigne 9/10th May perhaps). They have said they are bringing an easy to fit kit out soon. Whether they will stick with the NIMH bottle battery or not...

Anyone else ordered Trek nano (Cytronex)?

Hi Hezzy If you needed a full charge every day maybe. It's best if the battery is recharged before draining it since this stresses the battery less and therefore extends its life. I generally recharge mine after 12 - 18 miles. As an example if I recharge the battery after about 10-12 miles...

    What do you recommend?

On the Cytronex 4 miles is probably going to take about 15 minutes. I think you're right to be drawn to the Kalkoff though. They seem to be good quality robust bikes that can do the much higher mileages 24 miles you expect to make. The Wisper could also handle those distances comfortably. If...
