    General Lee 29-42t cassette adapter

Ok looking in a bit more detail to get my head around it I think I have figured it out. I was thinking it was giving gears to a bike that only had 1 speed not increasing the range of gears. You remove the biggest gear(for example the 36t) and then replace it with the pictured set of 3 but then...

    Sign of the times

2:15am that's what gets me, I know crime isn't avoidable but unless they are also looking for a road traffic accident/hit and run then I suspect he was cycling home drunk to the point he passed out or crashed. I'm not saying it's mega awful as I have also cycled home after a few but the crime...

    General Lee 29-42t cassette adapter

Single speeds tend to use slightly different thickness chains and so have slightly thicker cranksets and sprockets. It might not make it impossible to fit gears but a 10 speed will have thinner sprockets that are closer together. Scroll down on this to "Cassette /Freewheel Spacing" if you need...

Pedelecs - Read Terms and Conditions of Warranty

Kudos have already stated pages before that they felt the BB was in poor condition. Even the best quality parts will give bad preformance if they are in poor condition from having them badly maintained. You haven't really given any information on the "bad" BB, given the bike has shimano gears...

    Interesting navigation aid

It looks good BUT running stava/gps can already be a drain on my battery adding bluetooth to the mix will surely be bad for the battery. Still a nice sign of what is to come.

Pedelecs - Read Terms and Conditions of Warranty

You don't seem to want to offer up a model number or even a bike model so I'm not given anything to put your opinion against. From the kudos range as it is on the site now I can see they use a standard shimano square taper BB, they aren't anything special but they are currently fitted in about...

German Manufacturers attack ADAC test findings

I have seen potholes take out wheels, bars, frames, seatposts and pedals. I think the one when someones pedal came clean off was the worst as they then slammed a foot into the floor and made a nasty hole where the pedal left a sharp mess. All had just been on regular bikes not ebikes but many...

    Woosh Sirocco CD..brake pads.

For the rim brakes I would swap to something that takes cartridge brakes. They are a little more expensive the first time but after that you just replace the rubber bits, they also tend to wear more evenly and make less noise as the metal backs keep them stiff. Here are some from decathalon...

Pedelecs - Read Terms and Conditions of Warranty

I would just like to point out that all bikes be it kids bikes, mountain bikes, ebikes, road bikes will use the same standard sized bb. Each time he posts that it is "a bb like found in a kids bike" a part of me just chuckles as any bike mechanic or just anyone who could service one will know...

    My new top speed.

I often hit about that if my strava is correct, today was wet tho so I stayed slow and safe. Also given the direction I go to work and back I had the mother of all cross winds on the way into work so anything over about 15mph I could feel the wind grabbing me a bit too much.

Solid / Puncture Proof Tyres any advice please?

I have similar diy tyre liners on our bikes, overall I found they helped punctures from glass but worsened pinch punctures from the pot holes so can be really hard to find what's best. I also find with glass that shards will work in over a few rides so inspecting tyres often can help, if I ride...

    Ebike hire scheme for Haringay

I replied on the other topic about it but my view is that the boris bikers are usually not equipped for cycling(wrong clothes, shoes, no helmets, iffy maintained bike ect) and often they have no road sense, giving them a bike that does 15mph easily and hills they can freewheel down at 20-25mph...

Now now, is this a good thing or a bad thing?

I think it's bad. I ride in london and I already give far too much space to boris bike riders as they can get themselves killed and me with them, lost count of the number of times I have stopped to help a cyclist who has had a spill and looked over to see it was a boris bike they had tumbled off...

Replacement wheel / hub for original Kalkhoff Pro Connect

You might want to jump on this one, I think it has a coaster brake on the rear wheel(thats why it has a torque arm) but if that isn't a problem it will save the rebuild. Electra Nexus 8 Speed Townie Wheel - Ex Display | Chain Reaction Cycles edit - googled the hubs and they both have...

Replacement wheel / hub for original Kalkhoff Pro Connect

Planet X bikes are good for wheel sets. If it has internal gears in the hub then you will more than likely be looking at rebuilding the rear wheel as not many have them off the shelf. Shimano Wheels | Wheels - Planet X Bikes £100-150 wheelset +different size spokes (£20?) +£40 local bike shop...
