    Wheel keeps falling off!

This strikes me as a great opportunity for Pedelecs to maybe launch a scheme of "local heroes for e-bikes" In the same way people buy and sell here, if we had a special thread where people could submit requests for assistance along with the first part of their post code, they could then...

    Wheel keeps falling off!

I suggest you take a look at the poster's replies #27 & #29, also take a look at the 6th picture he submited and tell me if you think the disc rotor would comfortably fit the (newly installed) brakes.

Help! Bottom Bracket knobbled, Need to source a new frame ;(

OK the story todate. The bike shop could not help me with my wrecked bottom bracket!! I even bought one of those reciprocating saws thinking i could cut it out. More expense and still No joy. This means I either source a new inexpensive bike frame, find a car shop to removed enough of the...

    Wheel keeps falling off!

The original poster Drake-601 said "he installed a new mag disk", which I didn't quite understand. But if he means new rear disc brakes were installed, then all this could have been the result of the disc rotors being too large in diameter. eg 160mm instead of 140mm This would mean there was...

    Wheel keeps falling off!

Sound advice! If you click on that link above, you'll see a picture which show how the rear axis with its shampered or squared sides should sit. Its vital that the axis slides down all the way into the rear dropouts. The torque washer is just an added precaution. A close up of the 4th picture...

    Wheel keeps falling off!

That's something of an understatement. It looks from here as if the axis of that motor is too wide for the rear dropouts. Usual the motor axis will be champered or squared on two sides so that it fits the dropouts and doesn't rotate. Those photos seems to show an axis which never fitted, and...

Help! Bottom Bracket knobbled, Need to source a new frame ;(

Thanks for the suggestion i'll pass that on. Right now the cycle shop has given up on removing the old BB and have suggested i try a car shop, to see if they can cut out the BB.. Personally, I wouldn't mind them wrecking the BB threads to remove what's stuck there, but it seems i'll have to...

Help! Bottom Bracket knobbled, Need to source a new frame ;(

Hi all. My bike, that Burisch GT250 i bought in 2012 seems to have come to the end of its useful life. The other day i started hearing grinding noise in my bottom bracket, eventually it broke mid-journey. All this occured a few weeks after researching 'bottom braket torque sensors' for a...

    Torque Sensors

Geez, it a wonder he's able to stop with a torque sensor under foot, not to mention the power he's very likely wasting having the motor running when he's also braking.

    Powabyke Ebike Fuse Keeps Blowing

I would look for a short on the main wires from or near the battery, causing the postive to connect to the negative. The short which occured when you pedeled for a short while, suggest a lose connection, where the vibration of pedeling made the connection. Like wise when you jiggled the...

no pas wattage output showing on lcd3 with new controller set up

You wont get anything from the yellow wire on the controller side, as the controller is of course reading the input from the pas. and that will only produces a signal when the magnets are rotating. Have tried your old Pas with the new controller?

no pas wattage output showing on lcd3 with new controller set up

Don't assume the color of the wire are a match. did you get a schematic for the new controller? find your grounds, then check for the supply wire, that's usually a 5v reference for the Pas.

no pas wattage output showing on lcd3 with new controller set up

Going by your earlier post, i'd say the PAS wire connections on the new controller isn't the same as the pin outs on the older controller. This could cause the motor to run backwards, or not work at all, I've found that controller manufactures will swop the odd wire on the PAS, the same could...

    Torque Sensors

http://wooshbikes.co.uk/?sport-ts Quote - " A throttle is convienient - but can strain your wrist and not encourage you to cycle. The torque sensing technology in the Sport TS relies on a set of 4 coil springs built into the rear hub. As you push down on the pedals, the springs are...

UK - legality of thumb-throttles in DIY conversions

How fast can a 'normal' person cycle on 14t gear, assuming 42t chain ring? Its seems to me one should be able to calculate normal cycling speeds given what's known on systainable cadence. If you think about it, on an ebike with pas and a 14t gear, its hard to go above that limit of 15 - 17 mph.

UK - legality of thumb-throttles in DIY conversions

My controller has wires for varying the power output, so i set a three pole switch to that. I can use the throttle on the lowest setting to start, and then switch to the higher power once Im pedeling and under way, to stay compliant. ;-) The switch also help save on the battery if i want to...
