Have I done the right thing? pimped my ride

I've been thrown over the front of my bike on two occasions, both times when i had the front fork in suspension mode. These days i have the fork locked. I really can't see why i would need to have the front forks dipping as it absorbs my inertia.

    volts

Its interesting you mention the throttles. Not long ago i had reason to buy a new key throttle. I opted for one listed as 36v. Now it might be my imagination but it seem this throttle isn't as fast as the throttle it replaces. Given that there was a similar 48v key throttle, i'm left wondering...

    volts

Out of interest what would happen if you tried to run a 36v motor with a 48v battery, or for that matter, a 36v controller with a 48v battery. Also assuming i changed the controller from 36v to 48, and used the same 36v motor would it run faster or burn to frassle. Has anyone had a bike live to...

    Cheapest new Battery?

If I buy a back-up battery and then don't use it for a year or 18 months, will it degrade? In other words do Lipo's have a specific shelf life where the chemicals 'go off' irrespective of whether they are used or charged?

http://www.bikeradar.com/commuting/news/article/the-incredible-mando-footloose-im-e-bike-42427/ This e-bike design has no chain. Instead it has a dynomo which uses your pedel power to generate electricity. I wonder how well this works when the battery is flat....

    Charger problems and advice please

Some batteries will have a fuse in them too, if that goes it will prevent the battery accepting a charge.

Puncture-proof tyres for mixed on/off-road bike

That link mentions the use of a gel liner between the tire and the inner tube. I tried this once, and a relataively minor pucture resulted in the liner shreding my inner tube. This happened the moment the tube became deflated with that thing inside. If you don't mind the extra weight then...

UK source for 36v Twist Throttle with key switch ?

As it happens i traced the wires from the battery. One went directly to the controller, the other was graphed to a very very thin wire, the sort you get on prototype boards to take a ttl signal. This wire at some point was graphed to the heavier wire found on the key switch and then the same...

UK source for 36v Twist Throttle with key switch ?

Unfortunately they don't have this listed as purchasable accessory. No mind, i found the source of my woes. The wire used to take the main current from the battery up to the keyswitch and back to the controller must have fused, it was that thin. I've botched a by-pass in the controller for now...

    BBC stirs trouble for cyclists

I wouldn't be at all surprise to find there's a financial motive to this hysteria. Or a 'think tank' considering the possibilities for yet another means to taxation or insurance? Growing numbers of cyclists will be seen by some for its potential income. I expect there'll be more regional...

    BBC stirs trouble for cyclists

Point 1. The bloke clearly hung around long enough to get his photo taken, stood there next to his bike, yet the way the tabloids report this, makes it seem like he rode off without showing any concern. Point 2. The parent should share the blaim, as they live on a main road and the least they...
