    Cycling under the rain

The trouble with those cycle capes, is you'll still need water proof trousers. On the other hand you could try.. Lightweight 2 Piece Rain Suit - Jacket & Jackets - Unisex | eBay Its light enough to stash in a rucksack, and probably the same size of that cycle cape.

    Tubeless tyre - FAIL

I had a similar problem with green slim jamming up the tube valve, which prevented me from inflating. Must have been the design of the valve. In the end i had to remove the valve core and replace it with a core from another tube. Also i would advise you all avoid the plastic tube liners also...

New annoying noise when I pedal

It might be just coincidence that that noise occurred after you oiled the chain. There again it could also be that the grease allowed grime/grit to attach and trap itself inside some mechanism. I would look at the pedal crank. Use a size 8 allen key to take off the pedal , check for signs of...

    New bike lights

The design is larger than i thought, seems to be rim molds with the leds integrated. The asking price is a pledge towards the start up of the new tooling for v2 of this design. Estimated delivery august, suggests its relatively early days with this version of the design. Also as its a mold to...

Invitation to all E bikers - why not have a go 23 June

Do you mean you wont be cycling there? ;-) Actually there's a serious question here on how to transport ebikes between cities. And once there, how would you maintain a charge if you needed one? Would the locals lend you their power to recharge, if you needed to? As far as i know there are...

Ebike - Technology that's over a century old

It makes you wonder what else in those old patents couldn't be re-explored in light of the latest technologies, or the changing ecco environmental moves. A lot of Designs are incremental based on the current designs, or else they springs from some radical new industrial processes or changes in...

    Different style handlebars

This reminds me of a dirt cheap ebay purchase i made, only at the time i didn't know that handlebars varied in the size of the central clamp mount. Now i have a nice set of handle bars which i can't use without upgrading the stem. Look out for dimensions 7/8" (22.2), 1" (25.4) & 1 1/4"...

Safe to run 24v Tongxin motor on 36v?

I'm looking to rejuvenate an old Salisbury which has a 200w 26v motor, how would you use the controller listed above with a pedelec sensor? Note, my old salisbury has an inoperable torque/pedelec sensor.

    Pas sensor - metal ring

Just a thought, but did you try reversing the connections to the controller? Sometimes the controller socket is a match for the pedlec sensor plug, whilst the pedlec sensor is actually wired differently. You can usually push the pins out the plug and swap em over.

Are you stylish enough for this ?

The bike looks like it would suit someone carrying a few pounds, and i don't mean sterling, but that seat says, no chance mate.

Battery Life: 46 charges of my Kalkhoff 18Ah confirm a life of 5+ years

This is interesting but odd. I thought you were suppose to charge the battery after use, even moderate use. You and the author of the thread seem to be suggesting a substantial part of the capacity should be used between charges. Who is right here? Do you charge a little and often, or only...

    Protective Cloating - Overkill?

I was thinking, would it be overkill to wear a motor cycle or scooter jacket on an ebike? The cost, compared to a regular coat, isn't prohibitive. They are of course designed to cut wind chill, they also come with 'armor' for areas like shoulders and elbows and backs. If you fall off a...

Article on BBC Web site about electric bikes

If you want to, you could ride an ebike with same effort a regular cyclist puts in, and travel faster and further for that same effort. Also if you were to look at users of mopeds and cars in terms of their fitness, I'm sure ebikers would come out on top. Its all relative. Of course...

If this goes ahead it will be a MAJOR Boost for E Bikes and could stop the Bank Heist

There are still posties out there doing their rounds on push bikes, so what about giving ~them~ e-bikes? A fleet of e-bikes by royal approval, would be the surest way of saying 'ebikes have arrived',

Burisch offroad electric bike, new for £649 on ebay

Are you sure there isn't already the capacity to de-restrict the existing controller? I ask because the 2012 spec bike had a white wire which you simple unclipped to get an estimated extra 4mph.

Ever Tried Riding an eBike In the Snow?

Looks like the next gen ebike to me. From ebikes which look like regular cycles, to ebikes looking like budget motor cycles.
