Would I be dumb to buy an leccy bike?

I have an unrestricted hardseven, I can get over 60Km with 2000m of climbing on one battery. It depends how much power you use, stick it in eco, get an extra 100-150 watts and you will go a long way. Be aware that Haibikes are generally heavy things, I'm not sure I would use one for that...

    Giant Road e+1 newbie....

I used a standard speedo magnet with a drop of araldite on the pedal axle. The araldite is probably not required but I do ride off road in the Alps so a little extra insurance. I also fitted a second neoprene chainstay protector to the non driven side of the bike which hides the sensor nicely.

    Giant Road e+1 newbie....

Just fit a magnet on the end of the pedal and turn the speed sensor round, no more speed limit. The speedo will not work correctly but if that is a problem just fit a wired (not wireless, too much interference) cycle computer or use a smartphone with a gps speedo app. All a whole lot cheaper...

    E bike battery current limiting

I'm not sure if this works with a Bosch as I don't have one. Hence the link to the German forum. d8veh is totally correct the batteries must be at the same voltage when you connect them and they must be charged separately so that the BMS for each system can do it's work and keep the batteries in...

    Which Kit?

5mm, taking the 43.5 at the bottom and half of the 40mm between flange centre lines gives 63.5, take this away from the 68.5 centres between the nuts gives 5mm offset.

Porformance drop off with lower battery %age.?

Porformance drop off with lower battery %age.?

In this discussion it is relevant to me as I have seen distinctly different behaviour between the two different sizes. If you are running a Yamaha with a 500Wh battery you will not have the same experience at 10%. The whole control system for what a Yamaha battery does is contained within the...

Porformance drop off with lower battery %age.?

You still haven't said what size your battery is. The behaviour you describe is how I felt a 500wh battery working but my (and others that I know of) do this rationing what is available thing much higher. I guess at 10% it could be no longer able to give enough voltage that no matter how wide...

New eBike owner here with some battery questions...

There are some aftermarket batteries available in Germany but they are still expensive. http://www.ebay.de/itm/eBike-AKKU-36V-13000mAh-fur-Haibike-Sduro-Fulllife-Fullsix-Yamaha-Down-Tube-Type-/371997063510?hash=item569cc0b956:g:MrcAAOSwCkZZVQjU It is also possible to fit an extender in parallel...

Porformance drop off with lower battery %age.?

I guess I sparked this debate off. Which battery do you have? My Yamaha 400Wh has always been terrible for me up my home hill with anything less than 15%, it is particularly bad at any lower than 10%. I always aim to get back into the village at 20% to give me plenty of leeway. I hired a 500Wh...
