By 'Off Road', do you mean private estates? because these regulations apply to off road places to which the public have access.

Accessibility of Cycle Paths and Trails

They are annoying, their only purpose is to stop motor cyclists. At one time, South Wales Police had off road Police motor cycles to deal with this sort of problem.

Ford - Bikes for the future?

My guess? They will never produce these. They are just part of the advertising budget. Ford make cars, not bikes. \End

So hot that my controller stopped working

CWAH. This cannot be right, if you are in the UK. If you are in Marseilles, then maybe, but really, it was not that hot yesterday, just felt hot because we are not used to it.

    Computer Scammers

I keep getting an annoying phish from what seems to be a perfect Paypal site saying that I have bought some junk for about £100 However, the delivery address is not mine. This mail has a button to push if you dispute the amount etc. Best way to check is to go to your Paypal account where for me...

    Computer Scammers

I get regular calls from someone abroad who has a strong Eastern accent. They tell me that they have been looking at my broadband and it is running slow. I always just put the phone down.

Rules or best practise on overtaking

Walkers and joggers like to run/walk on the wrong side of the road so that they face oncoming traffic rather than having it come up behind them on their side. So, you should move towards the centre of the road and let her pass you on your left hand side. BUT, As you say, there was a dangerous...

Crank drive pedelecs: chain wear and maintenance

d8veh, Seeing so many are having success with the 11t sprocket, I will look at getting a narrower chain, don't yet know if it will fit all the sprockets and ring gear yet. The present chain is an 8 speed chain. I suppose it is possible that gear 7 is lifting the chain off gear 8

Yet another London female cyclist dies

I don't think that sexism is involved, other than by those with a political agenda. My Mother, Wife and Sister have passed away, but I have a daughter and Grand daughter and female issues are important to me.

Crank drive pedelecs: chain wear and maintenance

The bike is a Tonaro Enduro. It has a new set of cogs, new chain and new derailleur, all properly set up. From what I have read, the 11 tooth sprocket is a downhill sprocket, not meant to take the tension of 250watts on the flat. Remember, the best engagement is only about 5 teeth.

Yet another London female cyclist dies

Flecc, One point of interest in your reply is that cycling has increased enormously in London because of the congestion charge. I do not suppose it will ever be possible to find out, but I do wonder just how experienced these female cyclists were. Also, did they have driving licences. A lack of...

Crank drive pedelecs: chain wear and maintenance

Eddie, I have done all that umpteen times. The 11 tooth sprocket is too small on a crank driver. The rest of my derailleur 13 to 32 works smoothly and flawlessly.

Crank drive pedelecs: chain wear and maintenance

It looks fine but the chain skips over it. I have tried everything, new cog, new chain, new derailleur. I have given up.

Yet another London female cyclist dies

Thanks Flecc, I get the impression that many, not all, accidents are tipper lorries and as you say, London is heaving with these at the moment. Buses, and other low sided vehicles probably tend to push many victims away rather than sweeping them underneath. On thing that many do not realise is...
