    He doesn't need anything special. He can set his throttle to legal and restrict speed to 15 mph with any normal KT controller and LCD, just like we do. That's about £60.

    My memory is very fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure that those bikes were fitted with an LCD1. OP must have the original LCD because he has changed P6. From what you're saying, he probably can't use a standard KT LCD, but a new controller and LCD would sort it out.

    From memory, it's a 9 FET 22A KT controller with custom software. I wonder if it could be flashed with a standard or OSF version?

    Despite what we said, the motor is completely legal if marked 250w by the manufacturer. I didn't know that it was. Check it anyway to make sure. Without the marking, you're out. Assuming that it is marked 250w, you can run it with any controller as long as you can fix the max speed to 15.5 mph...

    It must be 10 years since I fixed one of those bikes. IIRC, I put a new controller in one. Nobody cared about illegal bikes at that time, so it was fully de-restricted.
