is it only expensive bikes that have throttle mode no need to peddle?

My Gale tops out at 12 mph (20 inch wheels), but the Tonaro will go up to 18mph

is it only expensive bikes that have throttle mode no need to peddle?

I must differ. Both my Woosh Gale and Tonaro Enduro give full power at a twist of the throttle. The slow start is only with the pedelec.

    how often to recharge

For me, I always recharge because I never know how far I might wish to ride the next time. If the weather is bad, just round to my daughter's (Half a mile) Otherwise, could me a few miles or 15, that is the joy of just going out on a bike and following your nose!

    Punctures

Yes Flecc, I remember those days. But the tubes as someone else said were rubber. I can remember wellington boots similarly patched, and who these days would know what you were talking about if you mentioned a gaiter for a car tyre?

Why and when and something else

An e-bike can be like a pet, it's for life, not just for Christmas! A motto for ebikers

D8ve, How is the two speed motor going. Have you been up any really steep hills? Does it compare to a crank driver?

    Wobbling??

I watched the pupils coming out of school in Ypres. They were on a cobbled road, yet a number had passengers on their carriers. They did not wobble at all. I think it must be because of the long framed, heavily raked forks of the 'Dutch' roadster.

    Punctures

A further problem that I had was that when I fitted a new tube to the twin wall wheel, the valve was too short and barely poked out of the hole. I went to the bike shop, showed them the old tube, and was told that they had never seen such a long valve. Luckily, another member of staff noticed...

    Punctures

Yesterday, my front tyre was flat. Turned out it was the patch on an old puncture had let go. Now if I want to glue my boat, I can get state of the art Epoxy resin glue. For the campervan, Sikkaflex polyurethane glue, but for my bike, I have to rely on an anonymous little tube hopefully labelled...

    Bit of a bummer.....

Linda. General Anaesthetic. To set your mind at rest, my last op. I didn't even get a pre-med because I was in a private hospital. I walked down to the theatre, lay down on the trolley, they jabbed me in the back of my hand. I kid you not, I decided to sing to them because they were joking with...

    Attitude towards E-bikes

All those clever, oh so fit youngsters on F/B don't realise that every day that passes makes them older. One day, they too will be grateful for an ebike.

    Attitude towards E-bikes

I noticed this in a Bike Shop in Belgium. Most of the trade was little old ladies with small mechanical problems in traditional type bikes, baby trailers etc. So, that is the client base that they catered for. Not many ebikes on show, and the mechanics were fascinated by the crank driven Tonaro...

    Rain poncho suitability?

The old cotton, oiled ones were less likely to flap than my modern plastic one. However, unrolling a little used oiled cape was an experience in itself as it tended to get stuck together. To carry as an emergency, you cannot beat a cape, it is like a little tent, keeps you warm and dry, yet...

    A new type of tube

I know that early pre WW1 motorcyclists used butt ended tubes, but I think that they were more of a get you home device rather than permanent replacement.

    A strange thing...

I had a similar thing on my bike. The tyre suddenly went nearly flat. I found that a spoke was broken and assumed that it had poked through the tube. This was not so. The tube was fine. I had a new spoke fitted and have used the tube for 6 months with no sign of it leaking.
