    First e-bike

if it is Freeborn, contact them first before you get too excited. When I tried to order late last year they had no stock of any of them but would do a deal on a 2017 model.

    Carrera Crossfire-e Battery issue

The Crossfire-E has a 2 year warranty IIRC. And yes this should be a warranty issue if it is causing the problem. I wouldn't necessarily expect that to be the problem though. If your problem is only when switching on, and not the display switching off when in use, if you have one of the...

    Delimit Carrera Crossfire E

Just did the segment today on the Greenway (Maxdrive) with 30Q battery pack - 20amp Limit with 80% keep current (equivalent to 16amps I guess). Result was 9:37 seconds. Now the weather was shocking (rain) and I did have a pannier on the back with maybe 8kg of stuff in. This was 36 seconds...

Carrera Crossfire E - first cut out (Sport Mode)

And to the way that the controller is programmed with regard to current draw - even in ECO mode you can get extremely high current demands by stomping on the pedals. I used to get cutouts in ECO mode in the "right" circumstances. (Go down a steep hill pedalling like billyo at 20mph +, start...

UK legal rear hub 48 volt kit?

My s09p controller from BMSbattery is dual voltage - 36 / 48v. Speed cutout is apparently adjustable from the display. 22amp limit current, but adjustable in steps down to a limit current of 11amp, so pretty versatile.

The Dreaded Cut Out On My 3 Week Old Crossfire argh!!!

Only the newer models have a removable display (which can be switched to MPH). Older models (with the animals) have a non-removable display. The older display has been known to fail - the on/off switch can fail, leaving you with a bike which can't be swtiched on. In those cases, the display...

    Delimit Carrera Crossfire E

I will do. Unfortunately I had an "off" yesterday after hitting a greasy patch, so nursing some bruises - it probably won't be for a week or two that I do that segment with the 30Q battery pack decent current. I can tell you that it was 10:40 on the Greenway Maxdrive with the orginal battery...

    Delimit Carrera Crossfire E

Very little difference between Crossfire-e and Kudos @ 15amps for Hill Climbing. Both are excellent climbers. I prefered the overall experience of the Carrera due to the Torque sensor system which gives full power even in ECO mode if you stomp on the pedals. The Kudos did my test segment in...

    Greenway Cross City

After my commute today I felt motor and battery. Battery was completely cool. Motor felt cool to me, but I felt what may have been a slight increase in temperature at the bottom of the plastic casing (bear in mind there is a small air gap between the actual motor and the plastic outer casing)...

    Delimit Carrera Crossfire E

Agreed - the Crossfire-E puts out over 400w as standard - this is confirmed in the Suntour Documentation that comes with the bike. Also confirmed by comparing hill climbing performance with my Kudos Tornado @15amps.

    Delimit Carrera Crossfire E

The controller is likely in the base of the battery. There are other key combinations (scattered through various threads on here), but nothing that seemed to enable limits to be removed or wheel size to change.

    Greenway Cross City

To be honest I've not felt the motor or battery after a ride - I think if it was properly hot I would have felt it radiating. I will check it tomorrow after my commute in to the office though.

No longer have a car, new to Ebikes...

It sounds like you have a very good local Halfords - glad to hear you have had a good experience! My experience with two Crossfire-Es (mine and my partner's) is less satisfactory. When mine had a fault I was without it for 3 weeks. It came back still not fixed (subsequently refunded). My...

    Greenway Cross City

I'm aware it is ambitious - I'm talking about once a week through the summer. I did use to do an occasional (very!) commute that was 37 miles each way on a non-assisted bike - that was too much for sure.

    Greenway Cross City

I finally got round to fitting my BGA 30Q battery pack and took it for a spin today. Pretty much what I had hoped for - more of a shove at higher assist levels and no sign of sag at all on the display or felt through the legs when going up a long hill. Running at 20amps limit with 80% keep...

Are small bike stands any good for eMTBs?

Thanks for setting me straight - what I should have said is that I have 26" wheels with the widest tyres on that don't foul the frame (as fitted by the previous owner). The link is useful :-)

Are small bike stands any good for eMTBs?

I have similar ones (but half the price!) bought from Ebay. Work fine with both my greenway (700c) and my Kudos (26" Plus sized tyres, but probably not 2.8" wide). I'm not sure that I would want to work on the bike whilst stood up like this, but very convenient for storage.

    Crossfire Or Kudos Tourer D9

I did 530.4 miles in total on my Crossfire-e. My GF has done around 600 miles on hers so far. Both bikes used in all weathers.

    Crossfire Or Kudos Tourer D9

I would get you the weight of mine, but it went back for a refund due to Electrical Gremlins. I would weigh my GFs, but it is currently off for repair (won't power up).

    Crossfire Or Kudos Tourer D9

Understood. You may want to let us know your height and general fitness level as well so we can give you some more ideas. Also do you want the ride to be relaxing with minimal effort or like riding a normal bike but faster up the hills?
