    Attempted bike theft

What I found interesting about this one is it looked like the guy had removed the saddle from another nearby bike and was using the tube like a torniquet to break the lock, but it didn't give, luckily for the owner. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/LJ7d38tVtGY

A micro inverter is like converts the DC from a single solar panel into AC for your house. LEDs run off DC. If you want to have power in your shed from solar panels, the easiest way is with a power station that you can get from Aliexpress. They range from small enough to work a string of LEDs to...

    Big Battery Cells

30AH cells, so you only need 10 to make a 36v battery capable of delivering 120A. Looking around Aliecpress, I found 10 for £117, but you can get coupons that would get at least £10 off that. the battery would weigh about 4.5 kg for 1100Wh. At ebike currents of around 20A, they should last for...

Good work, thanks. I looked everywhere for a photo, but I couldn't find one that showed that detail. The next thing to sort out is whether a Hailong type battery will fit. I was going to fit the rack battery if I had got an Intercity, but this one needs a middle battery of some sort.

    Is my battery goosed?

Blown MOSFET happen when you put the motor under huge load, like riding too slow up a hill or holding the wheel still when you operate the throttle. It's very easy to check if that's the problem as long as you have a multi-meter.

Thoughts on this replacement battery for Swytch?

On the surface, it's fake. Hailong make battery cases, not batteries. If they're going to cheat by putting that name on it to give you confidence, they've probably cheated somewhere else. Apart from that, everything else seems to add up, so might be worth a punt.

The Argos Challenge Urban bike is a half-folding bike. The stem and pedals fold, which makes it take up minimum space. It would be good if you have limited space in the garage or you want to leave it in a hall-way or something like that. I have a van, so the folding in half is not necessary, but...

Yes I did mean Intercity. That Argos bike looks very interesting. It's similar to what I had in mind, so I ordered one. Many thanks for pointing it out. I will chuck nearly everything except the frame, forks and handlebars. My plan had been to simply lift the electrical parts from my folder...

Wisper name is now blacked out. Today, i was able to do the final test of riding the bike. I can now insert either the 36v battery or the much lighter 24v one. The controller recognises the difference and adjusts itself accordingly within about 3 seconds. At 36v, the motor gives 50% more...

You can test MOSFETs from the outside by measuring resistance between the phase wires and each of the battery wires.

    Is my battery goosed?

There's nothing wrong with your battery. You have to find the reason for the short in the battery receiver or the controller. I can't help you beyond that because you haven't shown us which bike you have, nor which battery, nor anything at all about what you have.

    Is my battery goosed?

The battery in your voltmeter is flat, so it's giving a false reading. Measure anything else of known voltage to confirm. The problem with your bike is most likely a short circuit. When your battery was on the bike, the BMS's over-current would trip and switch off the battery. When you tried to...

Here's what's inside the PSWP battery: The switch, charge socket and indicator LEDs are all glued in, so I had to cut all the wires and change every connector inside, then join them to the Wisper ones. It was a tight fit to get it in the other case, but it's all done now. I transferred the...

    Greasing up the TSDZ2B

AKM motors usually open easily if you heat up the hub to the temperature where it's just becoming too hot to touch.

Controllers that don't work normally have blown MOSFETs and occasionally blown 5v regulators. Sometimes, when people mess about with connectors, they short the 36v to one of the data lines and wipe out the code in the micro-processor. Theoretically, that could happen if a cable was damaged and...

    Bafang clutch

That's the same as many other guys on this forum, but we all had a go and got success - very satisfying! I've built about 20 wheels now. I do it on my lap while watching a film.

    More Cheap PSWPower Stuff

They have 201 rpm AKM 100SX cassette motors listed at $45 inc. shipping. I just bought one with a complete 15A KT controller kit for £119 inc. shipping and taxes. Other people sell KT controller kits for about £80, so I got the motor for around £40!!!! They're ordering system is a bit quirky...

    Bafang clutch

If you can build a wheel, you can get either a MXUS XF08C or AKM100SX motor complete from PSWPower for not much more than what you're going to pay for just a clutch. The XF08C id 280rpm at 36v and the AKM 100SX is 201 rpm at 36v. They list it with an easy-peal label as 350w, though nobody would...
