    Help! Electric Avenue help please

I get 100% success rate with any pedal sensor with less than 12 magnets as long as it has the correct rotation direction and connection sequence. The KT 12 magnet ones work with KT controllers, but they're handed and they need correct settings. Some of the other 12 magnet ones work with KT...

    Help! Electric Avenue help please

Typo. You mean C1=2. Personally, I always leave C1=0,which is the deafault setting. P4=1, C4=3 for legal throttle opperation. Both those parameters can be anything if you don't have a throttle, since they only affect the way the throttle works.

    Help! Electric Avenue help please

Non-KT pedal sensors with Julet connectors nearly always give problems when connected to KT controllers. Some have the wrong connection sequence and some just don't want to work. A guaranteed solution is to buy a KT pedal sensor. Alternatively, you could try cutting the cable and rejoining in...

CARRERA VULCAN E 2017 BOTTOM BRACKET

Your decision is not based on logic. You're going to have a problem with the battery in the near future, especially if you don't use it much. The Suntour torque sensor you want to use will also pack up pretty soon. Any sensible person would change that stuff now or start afresh with a different...

CARRERA VULCAN E 2017 BOTTOM BRACKET

His photo shows that he is using a standard Chinese pedal sensor, not the Suntour torque sensor. Some of what's been discussed is a bit mixed up, so be careful. I'm pretty sure that if you want to use the Suntour chainwheel torque sensor, you need the stepped long bottom bracket that you showed...

Bafang replacement Display for Carrera Vulcan (in frame battery)

If you look at the reviews, the first one is from UK and says, "Works with my Bafang rear motor".

"Gouach Infinite Battery, The Only E-Bike Battery You'll Ever Need"

OK, thanks for that. I think £390 including cells is reasonable considering some of the features you get.

You've told us everything except which display it is.

Internal speed sensor then, not external. External is wheel-magnet type or GPS.

"Gouach Infinite Battery, The Only E-Bike Battery You'll Ever Need"

I think there must be something I'm missing. It's £390 for a 48v battery without any cells in it. Is that right? A set of 13S3P cells (Sanyo 18650GA) is around £108. The total cost of a 48v 10 Ah battery would be around £500 without shipping costs, which works out at about £1 per wh without...

Lishui Controller Modification - Firmware Flash Project

The one in the Yose kits doesn't. It only has 4 connectors: motor, battery, 1 to 5 and PAS. 1 to 5 has LCD, throttle, light, L brake and R brake.

Lishui Controller Modification - Firmware Flash Project

That's how KT controllers work, but like many others, they will get the speed from a hall sensor if you don't have a motor with internal speed sensor or an external speed sensor. That's made me think! What does a Lishui controller do regarding the 15 mph cut-off if it loses the speed signal...

    Planetary Gears Himiway cruiser

I guy was round my house yesterday with that Woosh Camino I mentioned. His own bike has an AKM 128c that I built into a wheel for him. I warned him about labelling, but he said that it was already labelled (engraved ?) 250w. When he bought it, the seller offered him that. He's not sure where it...

Lishui Controller Modification - Firmware Flash Project

Are you talking about your Lishui controller? When using the halls as the speed sensor on any bike, it's obvious that the motor will maintain 15 mph as long as you pedal when the bike speed is above that. When you stop pedalling, there is some friction that tries to keep the motor turning, which...

    brakes

I have some of those brakes on a bike in my house right now. They were fitted a few months ago, and they were very good; however, when I checked the bike today, one of them is not working so well. I haven't done a full check yet, but one of the pistons is looking shorter than the other one...

Type "Ebike clutch 36T" into Google, then look at all the options. You can change just the gears if you want. You can get plastic or metal ones.

A squished Motor Cable Can Be Disastrous

The motor has a connector at its end of the cable. The rest runs all the way to the controller. that's fairly normal for bikes with controllers in the battery mount, and so is potting because the water can run down the battery, through the connector and into the controller. I had a go at him...

    brakes

Those ones don't have switches in. We don't know how your bike goes without brake switches. You need switches if your motor runs on for a bit after you stop pedalling. These ones (the last option on the right) have switches in them and the same connectors as your present ones. The brake levers...

Help! Replace/refurbish Giant Enerypak 400 battery

This situation is quite complicated. Giant generally use Yamaha stuff, which is hackable, but on many bikes, they have their own versions which have their own software and communications protocols. If you have such a system, the Yamaha hacks that allow you to run any battery don't work. First...
