    Help! My next project

My Q128 was pretty powerful at 14A. i was happy at that for ten years, then I tried 22a, which is too much. That's at 48v. The point I was making is that a simple tap of the throttle gives you immediate maximum power when you want it. the rest of the time, you can use whatever power is...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

What happens between Israel and Iran is nothing to do with Trump. The deep state big boss has been after Iran for a long time. UK is probably more involved in that than USA. If WW3 breaks out and there's no oil, it'll affect us all, though me less than you because of my gold and silver holdings...

    Modifying to Torque Sensing

You can get special 3-wire ebike ones that are relatively expensive unless you buy them with the controller from a Chinese supplier, or you can cut a typical two wire reed switch type off an ordinary cheap cycle computer. They all work.

    Schwinn Mendocino Class2 mode lights

You must show us a picture of the control panel so that we can see which one it is. The flashing is an error code. When we know which control panel it is, we can probably decode it. One thing you can check is that the motor connector is all the way in. There is a line that marks how far it must go.

    Modifying to Torque Sensing

Yes, that sounds good. Occasionally, there isn't a speed sensor in the motor, so the white wire isn't connected, in which case you need to fit a wheel magnet type sensor. On some rare occasions, the wire sequence in the connector is not correct, where the wires don't go colour to colour, in...

Help testing Raleigh EVO Controller and cables (Motherboard) after water damage to plugs

Thanks for the update. That looks pretty bad. I'm still not sure about your battery. In particular whether it needs the comms to stay switched on. Unless somebody can give you a definitive answer, you really need to do a load test. You should connect anything that will draw something like 1A or...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

I told you that I'd revisit this, like I did last time you said the same. In the month after you said similar in April, when you said you were going to sell your related stocks, the S&P500 rose 12.79%. In the month since you said the above the S&P500 has gained 2.84%. For comparison FTSE100...

    Modifying to Torque Sensing

A three pin connector on the motor means that it's sensorless and you need a sensorless controller. I don't quite understand what you're saying. The important thing is how many wires are in the motor cable attached to the motor. You said originally that it was a 9-pin cconnector. Is that right...

    Help! My next project

If you set the throttle like I said with P4 =1 and C4=3, you can use it to give instant max power when you need to pull away quickly, dash round a roundabout, through a busy junction or anything like that. That's one of the best features of the KT controllers.

It should handle wheelie good. Why didn't you want to use a downtube battery?

Help testing Raleigh EVO Controller and cables (Motherboard) after water damage to plugs

The ones without the Tranzx system will switch on in that situation, but you can't change anything. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about how TranzX system works because I've never had one. I only know in principle, as it has the same sort of parts as any ebike.

Help testing Raleigh EVO Controller and cables (Motherboard) after water damage to plugs

That part sounds OK then. You should only measure voltage from ground (black) to any other pin, not from red downwards to any other pin. The LCD works completely independently of everything else. If it has battery voltage on the red wire and is connected to ground on the black, it should switch...

    Help! My next project

The law just says that the bike has to be marked with the maximum assisted speed. How you do it doesn't matter. From memory, the correct settings are P4=1 and C4=3. You forgot to say what it's like to ride. how does it compare with that Ezee thing you had?

Help testing Raleigh EVO Controller and cables (Motherboard) after water damage to plugs

40v fully charged is a bit low, and would indicate something wrong with the battery. It should be close to 42.0v. If the LCD connector got drowned, you've probably wiped out the software in both the LCD. Most Ebikes have: red - battery voltage blue - battery voltage return to power the...

Help! 3 pin battery mount - help needed

That plate and the rail normally come with the battery and the bit with the plug on can be moved to another plate. You have three pins, though it's probable that only two are used anyway. Unscrew the side panel and look in the compartment to see what wires are attached to the three pins. The...

Disabled cyclist; with one bad choice behind her, needs help with a new bike

I thought we already established that a a system with torque multiplication was unsuitable for her. Why do we keep going round and round in circles, with people keep recommending what's suitable for themselves instead of for Katy? She wants lightweight, power without much pedal effort and enough...

    ADO Carbon

How much power you need and whether you need gears or not depends on your weight and the type of hills you have to climb, and also yourlevel of fitness. You didn't give us that information.

    More Seizures

I think the main difference is between people using their bikes for utility and those using them for sport. You're seeing people using them for sport. I noticed the same sort of thing with motorbikes in the 90s. A German would never get on a motorbike without wearing thousands of pounds worth...
