    Freego bike spares and/or repairs

The Freego uses all standard parts so it's very easy to get alternatives or upgrades; however, if you want exact plug-and-play replacements, you can get some of them from E-bikesdirect, who bought up all their spare parts stock when they closed down. https://www.e-bikesdirect.co.uk/ Volt bikes...

KT controller, KT LCD3 and pass - guide on working modes

Neither have I. In most cases, I don't even need to do any settings to at least get the bike working with PAS and throttle; however, I still like to do settings to get it the way I want it. I never use any 12 magnet PAS and I try to avoid the unadjustable waterproof connectors, so that I can at...

Freego LIght Folding Bike pedal assist "stuck on"

That's a very common problem that any competent bike shop should be able to idetify and fix. You haven't been maintaining your freewheel, so it's got dirt in and behind it, and the freewheel has become a bit sticky because of lack of lubrication. When you push the bike, the freewheel is not...

    rear view mirror

Once you have the Cyclops in position, mark the axis of rotation in the horizontal plane. take it off and lock that axis by tightening the adjuster screw. leave the outer screw loose enough that you can rotate the last two axes with some effort. When you want to fold the mirror, just push it...

    rear view mirror

Today, I tried both the Zefal Doorback and Cyclops mirrors. Here's the difference: The Cyclops has three axes of rotationfor for the adjustment, so can easily be put in whatever position you want it. The Doorback only has two and a bit axes, and one of them is a ball joint limited to around 10...

    Hello from new user

Put some foam in the bag, then. It doesn't cost much and neither does it weigh much. Generally, it takes some time for a random thief to spot your bike and figure out what sort of lock is on it. Up to an hour is probably quite safe as long as you have the bike securely locked to an immovable...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

If it's burning gas, there is no diesel. It doesn't take a genious to figure that out. Instead, you get gas fumes, but the boat is doing 16 knots and the exhaust is behind the deck, so whatever fumes there are, you won't smell them. That's how physics works. Even if it were a diesel, there would...

KT controller, KT LCD3 and pass - guide on working modes

First point is normal, depending on throttle and speed settings. If the motor goes over the set speed, it'll cut out. How have you set the throttle - independent, dependent, 6km/hr or what? What speed sensor do you have? What speed is showing on the LCD?

Tingsheng TSDZ2B, wired up but motor not kicking in

The motor won't do anything unless you apply pressure to the torque sensor by using force on the pedals. The speed sensor has to be exactly right or the motor won't work, so set it like the instructions say, but you might have to adjust the gap a bit afterwards - either more or less to get it...

    Synch longtail super monkey 250w

First, have a read of this thread: (1) More Seizures | Pedelecs - Electric Bike Community If you still want to go ahead, look at the number on the back of your LCD, download the manual for it and change the settings. If that doesn't work, buy a standard Chinese controller and LCD that has the...

Problems with Bafang motor - what should the resistance be?

You check mechanical resistance to turning, not electrical resistance. Just turn the wheel backwards and feel how difficult it is to turn. With a blown MOSFET, you have to push hard. Don't think about solutions until you know the cause.

    Intermittent loss of power

there are all sorts of reasons an ebike cuts out. generally if the control panel shuts down when the motor cuts off, it's a battery issue, but if it stays on, the cause is elsewhere.

Problems with Bafang motor - what should the resistance be?

The display works independently and will switch on as long as it's receiving battery voltage, so if it doesn't switch on, it's not receiving battery voltage. If your battery switches off as soon as you connect to the controller, you most likely have blown MOSFETs in the controller. You can...

    Help! My next project

you don't need to run anything down. just connect the 48v battery and it should work, but make sure that the 48v one is charged first, otherwise it might think it's a charged up 36v one.

    rear view mirror

OK, So I thought I'd try the Zefal Doorback 2, based on above recommendation, as I'm just fininishing a new bike build. My conclusion is that the mirror's fine, but the folding is shite. Basically it doesn't fold. It just changes angle so that you can get your bike through a gate or whatever...

    More Seizures

You seem to have forgotton the difference between input and output power! Unfortunately, Flecc's not quite right when he says 750w actual power is simple because it's actually quite difficult to check. You'd need a calibrated dynamometer and controlled external conditions. He's right that it's...
