    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

Thanks. Andy is sending me a new display and an almost-new controller :)

    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

It seems to me strange that Andy would consider the display to be the likely suspect, given the evidence.

    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

Thank you. I'll be able to connect that okay, if I can get a new controller. For now, I've cleaned the connection and secured it. I've now checked all connections - still error 30.

    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

Is it okay to cut away the melted plastic and have a look at those connections? I must say, the blue wire coming from the controller compartment is not very long.

    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

I've asked Andy to simply send me a new display and controller. I'd prefer the cost over the time.

    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

This from Andy at Woosh: "Error 30 could be one of several things, the display, the controller, or the loom that runs between them. The most likely culprit would be the display. Do you want to send it in and we'll check it out for you?" I noticed that there are a number of connectors coming...

    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

Thanks again, saneagle. My wife's old controller was not compatible, so I'll have to wait until I get an email from Andy at Woosh. Then, I guess the best scenario is buying a new controller from him, and finding that it works :)

    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

By the way, once I'd got everything out of the controller's box, I had a heck of a job getting it all back in again. Also, there are so many wires to connect, it'll be a daunting task to swap controllers.

    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

Okay, now I can see some melted things, ie the plastic, protective coverings for the connections between the two yellow wires and between the two blues wires. Indeed, I had difficulty disconnecting the two blue wires. Anyway, here are my results: Red battery wire - yellow wire - Zero Red...

    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

Many thanks. I've just done the multimeter tests on my wife's old controller. Now I'm off to test mine.

    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

By the way, I have the controller from my wife's Woosh Petite bike (she uses an etrike now). Will that be the same controller as the Big Bear?

    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

I have a multimeter, but wouldn't know a MOSFET from a mole. How are they accessed; what do I test for?.........and so on.

    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

Well, I couldn't see any obvious problem in any of the areas mentioned. After I've restarted the display, then applied the throttle, I do hear a very brief click, coming from the motor. I'm now seeing Error Code - 30 on the display.

    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

Thanks for the replies. I'll look at those things. "Did you take the wheel out or drop the bike just before this started? " No, nothing like that.

    Big Bear - Motor Gone?

Hello there. My Big Bear motor started cutting out yesterday. Thankfully, it started again and got me the couple of miles back home. This morning, I got a few hundred yards from home and it cut out again. This time, it would not restart and remains inoperative. I am getting Error Code - 23...

    Which E-Trike?

This reply received from Jorvik re: Control System: Thanks for your email. All of our tricycles require pedalling to operate the motor- there are 5 levels of assist that relate to the speed the motor will turn while pedalling. The speed achieved depends on the terrain and rider weight but the...
