thanks flecc,i hope to switch from leaded to unleaded fuel as soon as my battery packs in....but these warm temperatures keep giving it a new lease of life !....Maybe i should move to Spain and it would last forever :D

If i wanted one of these for a Powabyke is it just a case of putting it straight into the battery case and connecting the charger/controller or would some additional battery management be required ?

on the older bikes there used to be a connection from the throttle jointed on frame or near the brake cables on the handlebars...if there is just try moving it with the power on..it should have a heat shrink around it.....i came across a brandnew bike that had the fault..

how about 'bike by battery' or 'pedelec power'

even better to have an illegal 'faster' ebike and clear off before they could catch you !!

gieven that the majority of bikes don't have cycle computers and it is not a legal requirement,how do people know they are travelling faster than 10mph.:confused: :confused:

Tom i think you have treated very unfairly over an expensive item that should be repaired .. free of charge... As for the personal imformation being disclosed, that in itself should be a legal issue and i am pretty sure they could be prosecuted if you went down that line. Good luck,i hope...

maybe the government would be better thowing in £1000 of ebike into the scrappage scheme....£1000 from the dealers and the bike from the government would be a good deal...increase sales of cars and bikes and maybe get more people ito cycling......

i think some incentive is needed given that yesterday i purchased a an 11 year old Ford KA in immaculate condition,12 months mot,6 months tax,fully comp insurance with only £100 excess and the total came to £200 less than the price of a 2009 wisper......there lies the problem of ebikes....the...

i have never stood up on an ebike,but i remember once a long time ago i did on a racing style bike and the chain came off.......it hurt....:eek:

and the proof of that is the washing line full of clothes at the back of my house !

yes...very tiring unpowered but as you say doable on an ebike...The problem with ebikes is that you get..so used to going up hills that there is always that desire to want to go faster.When you get back on a 'normal' bike it tends to bring you back down to earth.....with a crash !

how does it compare with mellor brow blackburn ? would you consider that a steep climb ?

don't judge them on a second hand bad experience,,,,with a new battery i think pound for pound they are one of the best value bikes around..... they can do over 30 miles and the batteries are reasonably cheap...not many bikes meet that criteria even those that are double the price...if you are...

powabyke + lead acid +drag + flat battery = even faster heart attack now thats a real equation :D
