Interesting article about the best eMTB motor.

No real surprise as the Brose had a recent update and the CX is a couple of years old now. If the next iteration of the CX is as good an upgrade as the ActiveLine Plus 2018 was (basically making the latter the best <15% gradient touring motor in the world) then I've no doubt it will jump to the...

Advice on e bike suitability for chronic pain/fatigue

Woosh kit or a Woosh Rio bike are the obvious suggestions. Woosh Rio Many of us ride bikes with torque sensing mid-drives that act as a multiplier to your own input, but with ME I don't think you'll want that. You'll want a bike that can provide full power if you spin the wheels barely at all -...

    NEW Carrera Crossfuse

I mean I still like the Cube Touring One Iridium better - same Activeline Plus motor, but with semi-integrated battery, integrated lights and rack, kickstand, Intuvia display and suspension seat post - and likely better build quality - but that Cube doesn't seem to be much under £1500 at the...

    NEW Carrera Crossfuse

I It's an incredible price for a bike with the best current touring motor you can buy. No issues up to at least 15% gradient. Totally silent. Zero resist. Insane range. I spent two hours down the muddy and windy Macclesfield Canal this morning on a bike with that same motor. 200m of elevation...

    carrera crossfuse good price

Any bike with the 3rd gen Activeline Plus Motor on it for under £1500 is very good value IMHO. It's a great touring motor. Well done... What can you get for your Crossfire?

would love my new Haibike sduro 7.0 to go 10mph faster

It's illegal to ride an e-bike that isn't restricted (unless you have it taxed/insured etc. as an electric moped). It would void your warranty and probably your bike insurance. It does of course depend upon the manufacturers/insurers/police ever becoming aware of it. This is unlikely in most...

Hi all new to the e-bike

What is your budget and what do you need the bike for?
  10. A

Hi everyone I'm new to the ebike world and after some advice.

If your budget is £1000 I recommend a conversion too. If it can stretch to £1500 there are a lot more options available, of course, but unless you can find a good second hand e-bike, the sort of thing you're going to get for £1000 won't be as good for what you need it for as a proper MTB with...

Bike for a 70 year old.

To be fair, OP states that her husband currently uses the roof rack for a bike which appears to be 13.5kg. But yes - not a comfortable lift at all...

Bike for a 70 year old.

Almost all e-bikes are quite heavy - in the 16-23kg range - so not ideal to lift up onto SUV roof-racks. It looks like the Claude Butler MTB is about 13.5kg so that is a considerable difference. Can't you carry it on the back of your caravan (or even inside it if wrapped in a blanket etc.)...

You must be from down South, because up here the conversation would not remain 'perfectly pleasant' for long. You literally 'know where he lives' after all.

I am so confused about tyre sizing - please help.

Thanks - great find - so that'd the widest those type of tires go then?

So I do need to try to find a 700x47C for a same size replacement?

I am so confused about tyre sizing - please help.

So I want to swap out my current Schwalbe Range Cruiser Tyres for some Marathon Plus Tourers. The plan is to get better grip on any muddy paths I come across and (most importantly) to get better puncture protection. So far, so easy. But this is where the tyre sizing fun starts. I have a Cube...

    New e-bike owner

Yes - actually it was surprisingly OK today - though I joined at High Lane, not Marple. I picked the route as, even though it has more road than I usually like, I knew it wouldn't be so bad for mud. I only had to slow down for muddy puddles once or twice and washed the bike off in less than 2...

    New e-bike owner

OK update after 220km of winter use. Bike is very solidly built - not even a rattle anywhere. I've had one slow puncture on rear tyre (which I hadn't got round to sliming). Patched inner tube on bike as couldn't be bothered to take wheel off. At its 8 week service I was always going to have...

    Even more undecided!

I just bought a Cube Touring One 500 2019 for £1570 from an LBS, and they are still doing them for £1630, so there should be a little movement possible from your LBS. Also that is the Iridium n Black version which had the best spec of the One's. You can also get the 2018 400 Iridium for £1430...
