    Introduction and Question

If you're up for a kit then that's different. I have less experience of kits so others will be better able to advise. The Woosh kits seem reasonably priced and specced.

    Introduction and Question

Unless you can fit the kit yourself (and enjoy fiddling), I would have thought getting a Woosh bike and selling your Ammoco would probably end up costing no more and should give more peace of mind.

    Range query

The batteries do not have a memory effect. As others have said, best not to discharge fully. On many battery gauges, once the first light goes out you're fine on the flat but the next big hill will rapidly see the battery sag. Many bikes show significantly reduced power when the battery is not...

Welcome Chopin. I'm enjoying commuting on my Brompton conversion at the moment whilst the sun is shining. It makes a change from my normal year round steed, the Kalkhoff Sahel Compact. My ride is quite short but very hilly (13 miles round trip).

    E-MTB hire in Sussex

50Cycles in Shoreham were hiring some bikes, I don't know if they had any Focus e-mtbs, probably not but it might be worth contacting them. There was a bicycle shop towards Hove that was hiring Haibikes, can't remember the name.

    STUPID QUESTION

It's printed on a security label attached underneath the lowest part of the frame - near the motor.

    Getting a bit fitter

Someone else was telling me about a girl who hired an electric bike and rode up a big hill without breathing and promptly fainted at the top.

help with a new Go cycle

Sense doesn't come into it, once smitten all sense is bypassed until reality is encountered (post purchase). I think if you want a gadget rather than a bike and you have plenty of cash this is seems to make sense.

    Electric Mountain Bike

Let us Let us know what you think. The Focus bikes are serious off-road machines but cost £3k-£5k depending on the set-up. There were some hard tail Focus bikes for around £2k but I think these are all sold out.

Quoting the OP "but more important is a bike that can handle the hill climbs". By the way, does the Oxygen MTB have a throttle? The Oxygen website says 'TBA'.

    Hi from the Chilterns

That's a good price. I'm not sure it's the most powerful of motors though so you should get plenty of exercise on the steeper hills. Let us know how you get on when it arrives.

    Hi....in need of KTM advice....

The mountain test referred to above is a very curious one. It seems like a simple idea but exactly what is being tested is not clear. As no one (to my knowledge) claims vast differences in efficiencies between motors, the only logical conclusion is that the Panasonic drive gave substantially...

    Hi from the Chilterns

Welcome Taz. We used to live in Thame, the cycle path to Princes Risborough was a favourite ride - pretty flat though. What model Giant did you buy?

No, we went over the steps (bridge). Here's a photo of my wife on the bridge, she wasn't very keen but it was a long way back!

This page from Eric van der Horst's London - Land's End Cycle Route shows the most challenging section from our recent ride. This was part of our last (hardest) day's 62 mile leg. We did the Tarr Steps option.
