    Sondors bike crowdfunding on indiegogo

I'm all in favour of affordable bikes, but if you take off 300USD for the electrics (minimum?) then that leaves you with a 300USD bike. Generally a bike for that price can't be built with half-decent components, so...

Discounts on Bikes at the Cycle Show

Talking of Haibike, I spotted they've released an entry-level MTB at £1850, featuring a Yamaha central crank drive. Saw it at OnBike on Friday, really nice looking machine - think it might be this one. Gah! You'd think I'd be happy with my KTM 29-er (indeed, I am) but I'm like a kid in a...

Bosch ActiveLine panel doesn't register new battery charge

That's worth a go if the warranty has expired, but I'm only eight months into my two years. So... no way, José! ;)

Bosch ActiveLine panel doesn't register new battery charge

Thanks again all for the various suggestions to fix my KTM problem. Since I am some distance from Col at KTM, we agreed I should go to a closer Bosch support centre. I therefore went to OnBike, from whom I purchased my (still working) Ave, now in Worcester. They kindly ran firmware updates for...

Bosch ActiveLine panel doesn't register new battery charge

This morning the control panel registered one bar of charge, rather than a flashing indicator. This seems to suggest that the battery-charge measurements might be working, presumably resulting from the battery perking up a bit after being left, as batteries often do. If this is the case, it...

Bosch ActiveLine panel doesn't register new battery charge

Thanks - I've done that a bit, but will try again. The speedo digits come up, so it does seem to be registering something. However the drive unit normally does a gentle pre-start click, and is not doing that - presumably a consequence of the fault. Ah, not thought of that. Good idea, will give...

Bosch ActiveLine panel doesn't register new battery charge

Heh, no - no dongle fitted to this one. I'd only do that after warranty expiry (and not got around to it on the Ave - too many toys, too little time!)

    Need Stand

Yep, that was one of the problems - really fiddly. There is a way to edit it, but I think you have to do it from a different page (took me about half an hour to figure out the hack!). There was also mangled buttons that didn't do anything, links that went to the wrong T&C page...

Bosch ActiveLine panel doesn't register new battery charge

Thanks d8veh. If the indicators on the battery are anything to go by (and I've no reason to doubt them) then it is charged (all lights are lit). The charger with this Bosch product series doesn't have a fast mode (unlike the Classic series) - it seems to be fast by default, taking between one or...

    Need Stand

I second all the positive comments for the Oypla stand in this thread. I thought it was worth a go for £30 and it really is of solid build quality. My only frustration was the Oypla website itself, which was one of the worst user experiences I've had for a while. I emailed their Customer...

Bosch ActiveLine panel doesn't register new battery charge

Hi all I've a KTM Action Macina 29, 2014 model I believe, fitted with the Bosch ActiveLine central drive system. It has given me eight months or so of fairly trouble-free riding, but as of yesterday I seem to have a problem with the control panel. The battery was about half-charged, and I made...

36V14.5AH BOTTLLE-09 PANASONIC BATTERY PACK ... delete thread, Sussed it out

Hi Ronnie Regarding your title addendum ("delete thread, Sussed it out"), there's a long-standing convention on the web that threads are not deleted when a question has been answered. This is because the conversation may be useful to someone else. And, as you can see, people would like to carry...

E bikes and the Law update

I thought the broken image in the original post was just my rubbish connection, but no. It is thus: The OP will be relieved to hear that forum members cannot dip into his or her Windows computer to view this file :D

E bikes and the Law update

I'm all for civic engagement, but I suspect writing to the DfT asking them to consider all bikes illegal is rather like a turkey asking the Christmas Department if the celebrations might be brought forward a tad ;). Given the economic damage that would be wrought by such an eventuality, right...

Jeremy Clarkson :- hub or crank

I am in the camp of preferring crank drives, but I agree that they are not without their disadvantages. I know from personal experience that my Ave XH-3 stretches chains quite a bit. I think my last one lasted a year - and of course the cassette has to be replaced at the same time. (I should...

Jeremy Clarkson :- hub or crank

If a bike were to peddle, what would it sell? Or would it be the rider doing the peddling? "Roll up, roll up, buy some lovely pedals! I'm pedalling my bike to peddle some pedals!" :D /runs away

Jeremy Clarkson :- hub or crank

Each technology has its advantages, so there's not a "right" answer. Furthermore, a cheap quality example of one cannot be compared to an expensive example of the other, so make sure you compare like with like. Personally I thought the technology was swinging towards crank drives, with the...

OP, if you can upload pics of your battery and motor, that is often helpful to give an idea of what is being referred to.
