Never fitted rivnuts but there are lbs and lbs. My favourite was amazing until it came to wheels and spokes on something non standard. They had no idea what to do. Turns out they are not wheelbuilders. Tried another and they fixed a problem in ten minutes for peanuts that had eluded the other...
I think you describe same issue as me. Can you use the mountingb plate without a U bend as a washer ? I did and used the mounting plate with a U bend on the non drive side. I did need to use two nuts As washers on the non drive side. See my post for a picture
Cheers
That extra plate is not on the instructions. I suspect the idea is to use the one with the U grip if possible . The other if not. The U grip one fits my frame perfectly (acts like a torque arm as you say). I used the non U plate as a washer on the crank side to get spacing right
I think your options for a small battery basically mean it is bespoke. No off the peg small ah, lithium packs that I know of. You can
1. Buy cells and build yourself
2. Find a cell supplier happy to build to your specification
3. Go Lipo (appreciate you said you'd rather not but.....)
Or...
Finally, the bike didn't work this morning - error code 2e. :(. All I did was charge battery. Bike kept inside.
It is possible I accidentally changed it to 24v when playing with settings. I'll check this evening. Really hoping that's it as I see zero other reason for the failure.
I have 2 x...
First ride - brilliant ! More torque and faster than I'd expected. 9 pas levels which makes a huge difference .
23mph was possible on flat. Crazy with big knobby tyres !
That's not what I built it for though , I want to climb south downs trails and extend my range. True test at the weekend
Fitting took some minor DIY as ,o n the crank side the chairing fouled the frame. Fixed by adding an extra washer between bb shell and chainring
Also one of. my Allen bolts in Kit was wrong size (either picked in error or poorly mamanufactured)
Trip to the shed resolved this one !
Finally...
The kit is a 36v gsm kit from woosh bikes. Excellent service as usual :)
The battery a 36v dolphin style 12.5ah. But in long run I will build my own pack to go in a rucksack.
The bike was very, very carefully chosen. I wanted a steel frame with a high bb geometry and 29er wheels. I eventually...
Yes, tried both my 36v packs which were reading 41 and 41.5v respectively. Not over volted or anything like that with boosters. Just a plain old dolphin 36v
No joy, put one on my hybrid to get to work
Not a battery issue
Oh no, all I did was charge battery overnight and this morning I have error code 2e (protect controller)
Tried all connections but seem perfectly sound
:(
Me ! First run today but just commuting. Fantastic ! Feels like itb has more poke than my mates 250 bbs
Will do a build thread tomorrow with av few photos
Hi trex, thanks - that job is done by my lbs as they took 5 mins and charged 7 quid. The tools alone were going to cost me about 35 quid
Money well spent it seems !
