It does seem a little strange you keep blowing them I've used nothing but cheap 36v controllers like this and I overvolt them all the time to 48v and sometimes 52v . I've blown two in 3.5 years of daily commuting. Both were 36v controllers running at 52v so not that surprising

When you say that do you mean you've taken a tumble and they disconnected perfectly ?

It's less about killing motor than disconnecting the battery (attached to me) from rest of electrics (attached to bike) I don't want to rip out connections/wires but get a nice safe disconnect
