Reversing direction of mxus hub motor

According to that photo, the motor is driving in the direction you want but won't drive a chain with a normal freewheel because it's freewheeling in the wrong direction, but you can fit a simple screw-on sprocket with an appropriate spacer; however, it would tend to unscrew whenever the motor...

Bicycle Association publishes UK Government action plan on e-bike fire safety

"Garidis said e-bike sales in the UK have declined because of safety concerns. " I read that in the context of what he said about fires. Is he right, or is it that other factors are affecting sales, like their prices, the economy, the cost of servicing and parts, safety on the roads, or what?

    Help! My next project

Failure mainly comes from metal fatigue in the elbow as a result of not enough tension in the spoke. When you put weight on the bike, the lower spokes go into compression, which puts a bending force on the elbow. 14g spokes are more elastic, so it's easier to keep them in tension all the time...

Reversing direction of mxus hub motor

I still can't understand what you're trying to do. A sketch or photo would help. When I made my DIY crank-drive bike, I needed drive from the other side of the motor, so I screwed a freewheel thread to the disc fixings, then I was able to screw on a normal freewheel. I made the adapter by...

why is this even up for debate?

Personally, I think the situation is fine as it is. Do you want to change something? If so, what and why?

Reversing direction of mxus hub motor

If you mean it's rotating, but in the wrong direction, the solution is to turn it around. Alternatively, you can weld the clutch to stop it from disengaging, then do the wire swap I mentioned above. I'm still not sure what the present situation is. You need explain clearly from the start.

Reversing direction of mxus hub motor

If it's a KT controller, you have to swap the wires in the motor cable. I hope you didn't get one with the waterproof moulded connectors. I always warn against that. Swap the positions of the yellow and blue hall wires and the yellow and green phase wires. I'm assuming that the motor is...

    Who remembers this guy.

I think he just crashed. I was watching his livestream that ended very abruptly just as a car turned accross his path from the front. Go straight to the end. That's the most frightening sort of thing I see when I'm riding:

For comparison, my 14g plain stainless steel spokes cost £9.99 from Amazon. They'll be carrying my weight (100kg) + up to 10kg of shopping.

    Who remembers this guy.

The guy rode his bike over a bump, and the wheel fell off. He was then clearly upset by the bike and the guy, who built it for him, so he threw a bit of a tantrum. The bike had been very pooly put together and it was just a matter of time before something was going to happen. Since then, he has...

Reversing direction of mxus hub motor

It depends on which controller it is. If it's one of the cheap ones with a pair of self- learning wires, self -indentification or any words like that, do the self- learning procedure.

    Who remembers this guy.

In the last video, his back wheel span out of the dropouts and he chucked the bike in anger. I'm still not sure if I feel sorry for him. He has quite a substantial following now. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/pdnBp9d-I04?feature=share

    Help! My next project

Thanks for that. It's well within the boundary of measurement error. I always use straight 14g and never had any problems. You get a better angle out of the spoke holes.

    Carrera e subway

If your battery is 36v, you can go as high as 20A quite safely. If it's 48v, 15A is safe. You can probably go another 2A above those without any problem, but I'm not sure whether that would cause wear to the nylon gears. Motors don't have power. They've no idea what they are and neither does the...
