    backache

I’d been looking for a crank forward for some time, the only one I’d seen was 3hrs drive away and the auction started at £750 ! Converting a bike I already had only cost my workshop time!, £30 for welding and another £70 when I get it powder coated  ive probably done 50miles since the...

    what shoes to buy

an alternative to dedicate cycling shoes For summer/dry conditions I use cheap fell running shoes, the soles have an exaggerated tread pattern that grips the pedals well and for cold/wet/winter conditions I use Lidl’s waterproof walking boots.

    backache

coincidentally as this stretching and back pain thread has been resurrected ;)my current analog project is just back from the welders. I’ve stretched the frame of my spare parts bike to get a bolt upright and flat foot riding position, now I can get both feet flat on the ground while seated...

    Bike wrap £160 worth it?

.. Totally money waste, a bit of tape on vulnerable areas is all you need. put it in perspective, I’m building a bike and just yesterday I stopped off at my local powder coaters for a quote, shot blasted and two part candy over metal flake £70 or a single plain colour £50. You could wreck your...

Which first ebike, Voodoo Bizango or Cube Reaction Hybrid ?????

Ouch, Jon you have my sympathy, I've had a few bumps myself. my big one (RTA) left me with one arm shorter than the other (they couldn’t find all the bone to put it back together) That was over 25 years ago, I’m 59 now and still love the trails but I don’t ride as hard/fast as I could because...

Maximum range you have ever had on your ebike?

You and me both o_O ;) ive been using Enzos buttonhole cream for a few years now, unlike most other chamois creams it has numbing properties:cool: unfortunately I ran out a couple of months ago and couldn’t find any more in the uk ( plenty state side but shipping doubles the price) I’ve now...

Maximum range you have ever had on your ebike?

The best I’ve done on my cube acid one 500 was 68 miles (not kilometres like the roadies use ;) ) and that was nursing’s the battery, Off & eco on the flat, upping the power only when I really needed it. This year I’m riding much more often (both analog & digital) but my 59year old knees suffer...

Would it be hard to ride my e-bike while wearing filtered earplugs? Is it legal?

Ive used a homemade version of “cat ears”, they cuts out a lot of wind noise. nothing more than a pice of fluffy material wrapped around the front helmet strap . And for the winter I Made a triangular version that reduces noise and keeps my ears warm

    Proposed changes to highway code

To quote the lecturer on my speed awareness course  (many years ago) some drivers are “slow to slow and to quick go”

    Proposed changes to highway code

This is unlikely to happen in my lunchtime but when it does they will also need to come down hard on the increasing numbers of illegal, un registered electric mopeds out there ;)

    No Suspension

On my acid one the stock suspension forks were pointless on tarmac and canal paths and not up to the rougher trails, so I upgraded to air forks. Now I ride it with the forks locked for everything but the rougher trails when they come into there own. The same thing goes on my analog mtb, as I’m...

    Very thin chain, voodoo bizango

Riding a brand new bike straight out of the store and the chain breaks, it will be covered as it’s obviously faulty and not fit for purpose. the only time I’ve had a chain break was on my non E Bizango (11 speed) only a few months old, the KMC replacement has been faultless.

    Rear cassette

They are spacers that keep the sprockets together and also stiffen the larger ones

    PAS activation when back pedalling

Well I have no experience of this type of system but surely it’s just a magnet or series of magnets passing a sensor, the sensor won’t know (or care) in what direction the magnets are going, just that they are moving ;) Its the same for any bike with a magnetic speed pickup, on any of the...

Hi, is the bike restricted to 15mph max assist and dose it have a magnet on one of the spokes To measure the speed. if the answer is yes to both questions then putting a second magnet opposite the first will half you assisted speed (7.5mph)

    WARNING ebiketuning.com selling useless tools

Yes but you’re find is an OEM part probably available soon after the motor arrived, I was suggesting that 3rd party manufactures would be late to the party :p
