New Bigger Wisper is on the way this year

I do indeed, it's a 2008 model 905se, bought in Feb (2009), at the moment it has the APSE levers.

    Li-ion or LiFePo

On closer inspection, the Wisper connector isn't a standard IEC kettle type. What would be the earth pin in a 240v version is set horizontaly instead of verticaly - at some point I mean to look up what connectors they are.

New Bigger Wisper is on the way this year

Hi David, I too would be interested in the new levers, will you be selling them as spares through your website? Regards, Stray.

    Jamming disc brake.

I've known this to happen with badly set rim brakes when the pad is set out fo alignment with the rim. What happens is that the pad wears unevenly creating an L shape which then grabs around the inner circumference of the braking area. Could the pads be doing a similar thing around the outer...

    Wisper 905SE Brake advice needed

Mine have APSE printed on the black part, between the cable tension adjuster and the lever itself. The difference between these and the old Wuxing ones, as I understand it, is the physical amount of cable that they pull, hence the amount of braking force you're capable of applying to the wheel...

Wisper 905se Sport FCB Wiring Diagram

If I were you, I'd drop an email to Norman at Wisper Service. So sorry to hear about your bike, people disgust me sometimes, it's just such a brain dead, vile thing to do.

With all due respect, Norman is an experienced cycle engineer, and so cosequently has no issue with servicing such components. I just feel that in the same way most car drivers have very little clue or interest in how their cars actualy work, it's quite a big ask to get the end user (who by...

Ezee Sprint - Replacement Controller Wiring

sounds like you need to take the motor housing apart to find out why the orbital gears aren't engaging with the drive teeth inside the case, if I remember the internal structure corectly from when I looked at Flecc's website.

    E-bike sales

Sure, but then I supose you'd have to get over the hyper protectiveness of a lot of parents. After all, those that can afford them are still buying tanks for the school run. The funny thing is that I don't think the world's significantly more dangerous than it was, the danger is just...

    E-bike sales

Oh, very cute :D I'd have loved one of those when I was a kid! Yet, nothing from the main e-bike manufacturers, or any specialist doing e-bikes soley for children (to be used 'off road' of course ;) ), well as far as I'm aware. Meaning that is such cycle makers exist, then they're staying way to...

    Wisper 905SE Brake advice needed

This is the downside, you're pretty much restricted to the brake levers that Wisper supply, the rest of the braking system is made from standard parts. As I said, Wisper do stock the correct levers, and if you have the APSE ones, then there is no need to consider changing them. I don't know...

    E-bike sales

Absolutely, the younger the better, how about 50W e-trikes for toddlers :D. I do feel that the major sticking point at the moment, and it's something of a 'catch 22', is cost. Without the demand, the costs stay high, yet the demand will stay low, mainly due to cost :( What amazes me is that...

    E bike dealers - Suffolk/North Essex?

I too found this somwhat curious, which is why I got my 905se from e-bikes Direct. Happily, I found their customer service and speed of response exemplary, and would strongly reccomend them.

    Wisper 905SE Brake advice needed

Well I have the 'City' version, and so can't comment o the disc brake, but found that swapping the v-brake calipers for 'Avid Single digit 5's, and the brake cables for Shimano (inners & outers) made the world of difference. If your brake levers on the handle bars are made by APSE, rather than...

    E-bike sales

Fair point - get them when they're just thinking about buying their first cars, but maybe balking slightly at the expense - like it! :) Though I suppose, as e-bikes are also quite expensive (but only in initial outlay), that there'd have to be some kind of taxpayer backed loan scheme to make...

    E-bike sales

I think Sime's references to speed and distance goes a long way to explaining this, particularly when you consider that the Dutch have a far more established cycling culture than we do. People there were just riding more generally before the e-bike came along, and maybe using cars for longer...

Yes, if they do find a sealed unit alternative, can you do us all thefavour of finding out the make/model of the unit? I'd love to have a 'stick it in and forget it' solution.

Mail on Sunday gives Wisper and Kalkhoff 5 stars!

Do we all have to talk very quietly whilst wearing it? :D It could get known as a subversive movement - "The Wisperers"............(You'll never hear them comming :D ). I'd say the secret to succesfull branding is not to overdo it, and just keep it lurking in the subconcious. So as to make...

    Interesting article

It is nice to see bikes such as the 905 getting such a good write-up in a national paper - would be interesting to see how this translates into people enquiring about & buying them. Will you let us know David? Pity they had to dovetail it with a fashion article though, I mean how many dress...
