Legal status of ebikes that are identical to those that have gone through the DVSA approval process but haven't been tested

Don't forget they are technically mopeds, so different rules apply. I don't have mudguards, kickstand and balls on my brakes, but no throttle either. I learned to ride without it and don't miss it that much really.

Legal status of ebikes that are identical to those that have gone through the DVSA approval process but haven't been tested

I am guessing it is a bit like driving a car without valid MOT. Why are you asking? Woosh and Pedibal go through all this fuss to get full throttles approved. Much better option is to have throttle active while you pedal IMO. Legal without all the fuss.

Legal status of ebikes that are identical to those that have gone through the DVSA approval process but haven't been tested

Why strange? It is nothing new. What is the difference between pirate and corsair?

    I sold my ebike.

What is the point of replacing illegal 1kW motor with illegal 500W motor? You just don't want to look like delivery rider? Use 25Ow motor and as many watts as you need. In my experience 500W or 750W is more than enough. I heard you can't use speed pedelecs in UK as you won't be able to buy...

I don't understand why are you trying to be sarcastic. May I remind you, it is you who has problems with e-bikes. I love mine. I have as much power as I need and I have it legally. I don't have to look behind my shoulder or be afraid I might loose my driving license or even a home. Why would I...

52V battery is illegal as far as I remember. Motor must stop assisting above 15.5mph, so bike you were watching was illegal.

I didn't suggest that, but yes, it would be legal. Taking 1000W motor and running it at 250W would be illegal. Silly, but it is the law.

Pretty much almost all e-bikes use more than 250W. They do it legally as power is not limited by law at all. Ignorance is not an excuse in court. It is your responsibility to make sure your bike is legal.

It is true that information on gov web page is incorrect. It is a consequence of general incompetence of previous government in many areas. It is in your best interest to follow the law, not what is written on gov web page. Restricting power output to 250W would make all e-bikes virtually unusable.

Motors don't have 250W mode. They are rated 250W or not.
