Much obliged :) Point noted about RPM, but isn't it the case that the spread of torque across the rev range is very different to that of an infernal combustion engine? Whatever, I wish they'd quote torque in foot-pounds. I can't get any imagination of it until I've converted from kN ... :D

When an e-bike maker quotes a torque ("power") figure, that's obviously measured under ideal circumstances e.g. a test lab. But where do they measure that value? Output sprocket, or what?

Well, I double-checked and the slack's definitely transverse, not vertical, and I can't see any obvious way of fettling it, so I've advised the buyer that it happens and he doesn't seem to be concerned by it. Actually, I'd never really noticed it, but according to my Lady Wife it's been like...

2011-model Kalkhoff Agattu bought new January 2012 . Frame size is "large", believed to be 57cm, which has proved ideal for 6ft rider. Until I took the plastic cover off it I'd forgotten that the saddle is shot, but everything works as it should and the battery still holds a charge, though...

Oh, that's a real shame. I was rather hoping you'd tell me they were made out of some magical high tensile steel, with each link individually hardened and tempered by horny-handed master craftsmen craftspersons. Oh well ...
