    Wheel diameter vs. Speed restriction

I think an indicated speed of 10mph with the 16" wheel setting would correspond to 10 * 28.5/16 = 17.8 mph which ties in with your 20mph average

Did it work? What bike / kit have you got?

    Wheel diameter vs. Speed restriction

I think 700c is 28.5 inches, so mph/kmh conversion would be 17 inches approximately if you are able to set it to that

    Wheel diameter vs. Speed restriction

Yes, if on a 26 inch wheeled bike you set the wheel size to 16 inch and the display to km , then when the display shows 20km/h you would actually be doing 20 mph and the motor assist cut out would happen if the speed reached a displayed 25km/h (actually 25mph), not that many motors could go that...

London's finest think no motor load speed = road speed

I guess if the motor assist speed was limited to 15.5mph that would cut in when the indicated speed reached 15.5 mph, regardless of load

New member! Looking for first ebike or kit...

MY experience of speed level assists was the Bafang BBS02 mid drive conversion, which, by default, had both speed and power limits on the assist levels. Even at lower levels I found the assist far too powerful until it hit the speed limit which was really sudden. Reprogrammed it to remove the...

Thanks for that, very interesting - think the Yose kit is very good value - If I have understood correctly, the later versions of the Yose kit ( I think including yours) have speed based assist levels, so that PAS2 will stop assisting at a certain speed level

That's really interesting Can't help thinking the existing assist speed limits do restrict what journeys people will tackle with electric bikes. What average speed did you get with the Carrera ? What is the no load max speed on the Yose hub (if you lift the wheel and apply maximum throttle or...

New member! Looking for first ebike or kit...

So I was intrigued - I read through the thread from the start and you were looking for something to commute 22 miles each way ? You discarded the carrera that was assist limited to 15.5 mph and ended up with a Yose power - you looked like you were getting an amazing average speed on that. Did...

Following on from my introduction to this forum I have questions

Yep, exactly the same multimeter, the Wisper 700 battery/ charger charges to exactly 42.0 v repeatably, the battery / charger (nominally 720Wh) that I got with my Woosh kit charges to 41.3v repeatably, will double check the voltage on the charger port.

Following on from my introduction to this forum I have questions

That's interesting - one of my 36v chargers charges to 42.0v exactly and one to 41.3v (both new batteries and chargers - different conectors)

Suggestions for Cycle Route Planner ?

At the risk of stating the obviously wrong answer - I had just used Google Maps with the cycling option - seemed to route me off main roads and had the heights profile The Woosh predictor seemed pretty good at giving exact details on % inclines https://wooshbikes.co.uk/clearway.php

    Hi from West Yorkshire

That's a clever concept - does the extra weight / resistance of it being an electric bike slow it down much when you are not using assist compared with a non electric bike ?

    Hi from West Yorkshire

The Orbea Gain D40 - that is very light for an e-bike ! On the flat, do you find that you are riding above the 15.5 mph assist speed limit and just use the assist on hills ?

Looks very similar to my (960Wh !) battery that I have for my BBS02 conversion but the connector highlighted in yellow is different.

Following on from my introduction to this forum I have questions

Even without the motor speed limit restriction, on my hub drive I feel I am doing most of my riding in the highlighted yellow zone where I am "approaching" the no load max speed of the motor and as I approach it, the motor gives less and less assistance, so even though I am riding in the top...
