Total newbie. Wanting a UK LEGAL eBike for effortless steep hill riding.

Depends on how steep, total weight of rider + bike, where the motor is (hub or mid drive) There is a rather good predictor here https://wooshbikes.co.uk/clearway.php From the Woosh website https://wooshbikes.co.uk/? Will your bikes sail up hills? It depends on your weight. The heavier you...

best e bike to derestrict and add throttle

I think normally the motor assist stops when you reach 15.5 mph, to go faster than that you have to pedal only. If you alter the max motor assist speed that changes the speed at which the motor assist stops (whether throttle or PAS) On my hub motor bike, I get to 19mph on the flat, pedalling...

Woosh xf08c cassette with rear rack battery

We have the Xiaomi mi bands (about £30-40). You have to install the "Zepp Life" app to link the band with your phone via Bluetooth. If you press "outdoor cycling" on the band, it uses the GPS on your phone (which you have to have with you) to track your route. After the cycle you can open...

Woosh xf08c cassette with rear rack battery

We had a e-cycle to Northallerton and back, 43 miles It was lovely ride, Google suggested a route mostly along pretty deserted single track roads j We did have a couple of full panniers on the rear, with lots of fluids and some cookies and some shopping It was lovely day and lovely...

Wisper 705 Torque or Raleigh Motus step thru with hub gears.

My wife has a 2019 second hand 705 (not the torque model) and I can verify it is very powerful from trying to keep up with her ! Also thinking about customer service outside the guarantee period Depending on your usage I would go for one of the larger batteries. We are planning a 50 mile trip...

    New to E biking..

Don't think so - second hand - I would assume the battery needs replacing and you would have to source a replacement battery if you can find one - reckon that would be another £300 - looks a bit limited range ? - might be quite a good donor bike for a conversion though ? Could keep the motor ...

Woosh xf08c cassette with rear rack battery

The engineer in me wonders about buying a secondhand wisper 705 that's not working and trying fitting a new rear rack with 48v battery and controller and display I like the step through design and the hydraulic disc brakes and how the controller fits in the battery housing - must be able to buy...

Woosh xf08c cassette with rear rack battery

Went out for a short (10 mile) cycle with Jan last night, lovely roads for cycling, saw lots of other cyclists. As I expected, I was having to use an assist level higher to keep up with Jan, however hard I pedalled, but this causes a lot less friction than if I am on my BBS02B conversion and...

    Choosing a new bike.

But the full throttle is an option - I presume they still fit the standard throttle if you don't take that option ? Why will you have to look at other bikes ?

    Choosing a new bike.

As well I think the standard one will effectively give you maximum assist, whatever assist level you have set (well Jan's does) - useful for going up hills without having to change the assist level

Which conversion kit is best for whisper electric bike have all the leads back wheel attached

I was wondering about this, see if I can find a knackered 705 on eBay/ marketplace and see what I could do with it. Does anyone know what motor it is and if it would take a 48v battery/ controller. I guess a new LCD display too

Woosh xf08c cassette with rear rack battery

Ok cycled up the nearest big hill (extract below!) Cycled up without stopping, slowed down to 10 km/h , using 2nd gear ( out of 8). Put in a fair amount of pedalling effort but there's no way I would have got up alone ! I think I am going to leave it in max assist level and (on the flat), I'm...

Woosh xf08c cassette with rear rack battery

Hi all So I wanted a "tootling about" pedelec to go with my BBS02B boardman conversion and I thought I would try doing this one myself (bit of a novice bike mechanic!). Not going to use it for commuting or in heavy traffic, just day trips on pretty deserted single track roads and maybe cycling...

    Yosepower hub kits.

Yes, when I asked Yose they said the assist levels were speed based rather than %power based which seemed it would result in over assistance up to the speed limit for that level then zero assistance above that speed

    Help! Which bike to convert

I have bought a 24 speed Claud Butler Legend step through off Facebook Marketplace for the princely sum of £40 (there's loads of suitable bikes on Facebook) I've bought some upgraded Clarks brake pads for the v brakes, some puncture resistant tyres and the woosh xf08c rear hub kit with 20AH...

    Yosepower hub kits.

    Yosepower hub kits.

Yes - seemed a bit strange - on the listing on the Yose Power website all the freewheel hub conversion kits had significantly lower torques quoted to the the cassette conversion kits - even for the same nominal wattage
