Yet Another London Cyclist Death Today

In both of the cases I mentioned, and in many other cases, The cyclists arrived at the junction first - that means the cyclists did not ride along the nearside of the trucks. In both cases they were left hooked. In the first case the driver was on his mobile, in the second he crossed into the...

Yet Another London Cyclist Death Today

That video shows an extreme version of London cyclists or courier types who actually don't often get killed. The accidents I cited were normal commuters who were well aware of the dangers of lorries and were correctly positioned at the place of the accident. People like Flecc always want to...

Yet Another London Cyclist Death Today

"The evidence is that almost all of these accidents was totally under the control of the cyclist and could easily have been avoided by them." Where is this evidence? Did not the latest stats on cycle accident reveal 68% of KSI collisions were the fault of the driver?

Yet Another London Cyclist Death Today

I have to say I find Flecc's attitude on this matter absolutely sickening. I cycle ten miles a day in central London as I have done for 20 years; the behaviour of many lorry drivers is disgraceful. They almost always ignore advance stop lines and the numerous arguments I've had with them when...

    Will these roundabouts catch on?

These roundabouts have worked successfully for many years abroad. It's a shame people are so negative about attempts to make cycling safer. While not perfect, I'd rather use the new design than what we have at the moment.

    Redbridge....some further thoughts...

How about the new cycling centre in the Olympic park? There will be a road circuit and it's far more accessible than Redbridge. (Cycling there from Hackney was awful!).

    GoCycle G2 at Redbridge

I thought the GoCycle G2 on trial at Redbridge was a significant improvement compared with the thumb-numbing original, but it's still woefully under geared. How they can justify a staggaring £1600 increase in the retail price just beggars belief. Shame really, because if they'd chosen a more...

    Another cyclist death this morning.

"Cyclists are responsible for their own safety in the same way that all road users are and trying to transfer all responsibility for that onto others is fundamentally wrong." In what other sphere of human activity can you operate a lethal piece of machinery in a public place and not be held...

    Another cyclist death this morning.

These large vehicles are inherently dangerous. Given the low cost and ready availability of digital camera technology there's absolutely no excuse for this carnage to continue. I might add that I'm appalled at some of the comments above. I've nearly been killed by lorries on several occasions...

Woosh Sirocco 2 review - who?

It's going to flare up again anyway. There's nothing wrong with a flare up if it results in honest debate.

Woosh Santana.. A rose or a thorn?

Sound like an excellent machine. And a nice looker for a step through. Thanks for the review.

    Spot the difference...

I wouldn't invest in a brand of machine that largely consists of an assembly of off-the-shelf components. I think all acknowledge that the Wisper has higher grade components and better post sales service, but is that enough to bridge the £820 chasm?

    Spot the difference...

Is it just the frame that Wisper claim is their unique design (into which they've apparently invested so heavily) and its replicated geometry their main issue? And are all other components (motor, battery, transmission, controller, throttle, forks, brakes, handlebars etc) 'off the shelf' items...

    Spot the difference...

David, My 4 year old wisper is doing fine. I bought the bike second hand a year ago from this forum from someone who didn't use it much but obviously looked after the battery, as I've used it almost every day since and I can still get over 30 miles range (and I weigh 18 stone!). I had to have...
