    Spot the difference...

I'm genuinely confused here. The components on the 'look-a-like' match those on my 2008 wisper - and are admittedly cheap but work ok. Is it the case that the 2011 wisper on that link has had a £820 upgrade compared with the 2008 model?

    Spot the difference...

I think the motor is the same (although wisper now offer a Japanese option), both have 15Ahr Li-po batteries, and the frames are aluminium. The weights are similar. Wisper 905 rain-induced powerloss

Having found out from Wisper that they don't have any replacement key switches for this type of battery anymore I've 'hot wired' it bypassing the switch as a temporary measure until I can find a suitable replacement. Thanks to those who gave advice and Wisper for their help and assistance.

    Wisper 905 rain-induced powerloss

I'd had decided to hand it over to Wisper - all the wiring was connected with what I would consider 'permanent' means. I took a photo that I'll attempt post so you can see the contents of the battery. Cheers and thanks for your assistance.

    Wisper 905 rain-induced powerloss

Having taken a look inside I presume that when you refer to 'fuseholder' you mean the 'spade' car-type fuse inside the box - not the glass fuse you can access from outside which seems to be only part of the charging circuit? Mine is marked '30' so I assume it's 30 amps. It appears in tact and is...

    Wisper 905 rain-induced powerloss

Bang on Roger! 41.8 Volts on the charger side. But dare I open the box to bypass the switch?

    Wisper 905 rain-induced powerloss

I have now acquired a multimeter. I've connected it to the battery pins directly and the 'bullet' connectors with the 'kettle' plug inserted (key switched to 'on', of course). The battery appears completely dead. How can a battery that took me 30 miles the day before just drop out like that? Is...

    Wisper 905 rain-induced powerloss

David, I have opened up the controller compartment and dried out the wiring - it didn't seem wet to be honest. I was sent a replacement throttle today (under warranty) and connected it (the current one is only a couple of months old) but still everything remains dead. I've disconnected the...

    Wisper 905 rain-induced powerloss

I got caught out by the heavy rain last night. Apart from personally getting soaked, the throttle indicator lights started flashing, with intermittent power for a few seconds, before going off completely leaving me with a challenging few miles to pedal home. This morning the bike is still...

    905se - intermittent power

I know there could be numerous causes for this, but what are the most likely problems when you lose power for between 2 and about 20 seconds? Are there any diagnostic techniques? Regards.

    Olympic Venue bike ban

I live near the Olympic park. The roads all around have all been rebuilt either with the worst, most tokenistic cycle facilities, which evaporate near the big junctions, or none at all - including Stratford high street which is an urban motorway up to eight lanes wide. In the Olympic park itself...

Do you leave your battery on the bike when you lock it?

I leave my wisper with battery locked up on the street in East and central London. To not do so would be to defeat the object of the bike in the first place - convenient transport. There again, I only paid £250 for the bike, so I'm not so worried.
