    Good value?

For minute there I thought it was a crank motor - which would have been good value!

    Opportunist Battery top-ups

Many thanks for your advice - I'll stick with the daily charge. The maximum distance I've ever gone on the bike is 30 miles and that takes me to the low indicator - I won't risk taking it any further.

    Opportunist Battery top-ups

I have similar dilemma on topping up the battery. My return trip to work is 6 miles and I tend to top up every day, but should I be topping up every 3 days, say? The battery is a 3 year old 16Ah Li-Ion on a wisper 905se, which I bought second hand recently. (As a test when I first got the bike I...

Dead throttle/broken spoke Wisper 905 se

I tried to use the throttle yesterday for the first time in a few days and nothing happened. I tried switching off and on again but it remained as dead as a dodo. Any clues/ideas? Also, I noticed I have a broken spoke in the back wheel. Official replacement spokes only come at £13 for half a...

Flecc can you give some guidance

Aerodynamic drag increases with the square of velocity, but work done is force times distance, and power is the rate of doing work: therefore power required to overcome aerodynamics drag varies with the cube of velocity.

    Decathlon ebike

Decathlon have kindly just agreed to loaning the ebike to me for a few days, so expect a detailed review soon. Any tips on what to look out for?

    Decathlon ebike

I have no target distance as I work just 3 miles from home and central London is only 4 miles away. I've asked Decathlon if I can try the bike out on gradients away from the store so I can post a review here.

    Decathlon ebike

I've just heard from Decathlon on the replacement battery: 'A replacement battery for the new Btwin E-bike will be available in early june for £239.99.' Is that not pretty reasonable for a 10Ahr battery?

    Decathlon ebike

The battery is 24v 10AHr...pretty standard. The 'not on rough terrain' statement is included with most of their bikes, including MTBs. It felt pretty stiff and sturdy to me as I threw it around, and I weigh 18.5 stone. It felt no heavier than other ebikes I've tried......and much less...

    Decathlon ebike

As I mentioned on another thread I found the Decathlon ebike to be superb when I tried it out last week. It had the best acceleration I've experienced on an ebike - obtained just by twiddling the pedals in a low gear. Total bargain at £500. I'm waiting to check out the replacement battery price...

    Low cost ebike

I tried the decathlon ebike last week and I was really impressed. It had the highest acceleration I've experienced on an ebike. The pedelec system measures only the pedalling rate rather than torque ,so if you stay in a low gear and just twiddle the pedals you absolutely fly! I'm waiting for...
