Quick update on my nextbase-412gw, if anyone's interested ;) Like they say, this realy is plug it in and forget it, so much so I'd forgot to get back here  For the first few trips I took it into the house and reviewed the footage (exelent picture quality both day and night) I also...

    Do they exist!!

That guys iron is 300w not a 1000w, beats me by 50w. My biggest is only 250w (the big black one at the top :p

    Do they exist!!

Back in the day, building ni-cad & NiMh packs for RC cars and I'd use the biggest iron I had (110w). Hard and fast to minimise heat transfer  If you use a low power iron you'll have it on the cells for very long time before the solder flows and that will damage the internals

Depends where you park ! The one I've chosen should be very easy to remove as the mount and power lead are one and the same so there's no messing. I think our works carpark is safe but not so for the public carpark out side the swimming pool.

    Wind noise

Probably from your strap sitting a little bit away from the side of your head. I made something from old Fleece fabric I had kicking around ( a neck warmer), I cut 2 squares about 3". I wraped them around the strap just in front of my ears, initially held in place with a safety pin but once I...

Changed my mind  well a visit to halfords did it for me (along with some earlier feedback ;)) Dispite quite a large range online, halfords only have nextbase instore, limiting choice can help the indecisive lol Seeing the latest incarnation of the 402, I was sold on the features...

    Low cost tracker.

This is not a tracking device, it's an expensive key finder using a Bluetooth signal. When your phone is close enough to the trackR it causes it to emit a beeping sound. Attach it on your keychain and if you stray to far from them an alarm sounds on your phone, it also works in reverce so if...

88% positive reviews of the 404G but the most recent ones are down to only 1 star ? that's a little worrying. http://www.halfords.com/technology/dash-cams/dash-cams/nextbase-dash-cam-402g-professional#reviewDetails The transcend is ready to go for £67 (10% discount) dose everything I think I...

In an accident the police could use your DC information for your benifit but with gps a full driver profile might not be in your favor ;)

Cheers Tom, I'd been looking at the next base dc's but the more recent reviews have been poor, many having premature battery failure. It may only be model spesfic but that's what prompted me to post here. The Transcend drivepro 200 has my eye at the moment, good reviews, looks quite compact...

I haven't been on holiday for 15 years :(, the only time I'm under water is in the swimming pool or the bath  I don't want a bike cam and I already have a camera ;) but thanks for the recommendation anywho. Now if only the action cam came with an action lifestyle, inc the age and...

Ive put it off for years but now might be my time to join the dash cam club ! As a complete DC newbie I've been overloaded with choices, good and bad reviews on the same cam and stories of well known makes with on going early battery faults. What's best, is a £40 cam worth buying or do I need...

    Cold feet

As a foot note, lol I have used heated insoles, a faff to use and they only kept the balls of my feet warm, my toes still felt like ice cubes.

    Cold feet

Good question The first pair I brought were a snug fit so no room for ordanary socks but they worked ok with my summer shoes & kept my feet warm for about an hour on a frosty ride. Now for better comfort my fishing neoprene socks are lose enough for under socks and my Lidl boots just right for...

    Cold feet

Bin there, done that  I now use neoprene socks :) Available in many forms from thin-ish 3mm diving socks to thick furr lined neoprene wellie socks. Obviously the thicker the sock the tighter it makes the shoe ;) for the colder days I'm using neoprene fishing socks and a pr of loose fitting...
