    sinclair C5 for sale!

I think the C5's time is starting to appear... Electric vehicles are becoming more acceptable. Recumbent cycles (which are very similar) are more popular than they were. Battery technology has improved significantly. True I don't think the UK is ready yet, but other countries that are...

    sinclair C5 for sale!

Strange coincidence, I was looking at them only the other day. If I had the storage space & time, it would be great to refit one with a modern battery and motor!

New to E-Biking - First impressions

Well then you would have noticed my 32! tooth chainring with 110!mm "kiddies" crank. The original crankset on my "2007 German Ebay" machine is a 52T beast on a 130 BCD (rather than 110) crankset with 170mm cranks. I just never pedalled in the higher gears with the 52T chainring!:D

    Wisper 905SE Brakes

Just (literally) got my new levers, not had chance to fit them yet. Many thanks to David and Norman! These APSE ones are MUCH better built than the old Wuxing ones, with an all metal construction that inspires confidence. Interestingly one of them has only a short lead on in with a 3...

New to E-Biking - First impressions

No it isn't, but when the power switches off, because the difference is so big, you'll certainly think it is! (That is too say the power provided by the Wisper is so nice that when it goes away anything else feels like a brick).

What happens when you cant get a replacement battery ?

That's a very long and involved question!! Ask again when your battery needs replacing... ;) (Short answer I want all three! Am I gonna get it?...):o If you want to start your research now try: Endless-sphere.com • View forum - Battery Technology come back when you know the...

Motor making sound like bumblebee stuck inside it :(

3 possibilities I can think of: 1) Broken wire for one of the hall sensors (thin wires) or motor coils. 2) Broken hall sensor in the motor. (I've read of people replacing these) 3) Broken gear... Check your connections...

What happens when you cant get a replacement battery ?

Also, just for info GoldenMotor (google em) are selling a LiFEPO4 based battery that at first glance appears to share the same case & rack as the Alien one. No guarantees they'll be around either, but they are a manufacturer.

Charging of times of Lithium Batteries to get much shorter.

In case anyone is thinking of buying a super mega charger...you also need a BMS capable of "throwing away"/controlling the excess current for a completed cell, whilst the other cells complete their charge...

Is this FLECC's variation of EZEE Quando?

Bersh, Have you asked on the EndlessSphere forums (http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/)? I only suggest this because, although very DIY focussed, they are also a lot more US focussed than this forum so might have more local knowledge for you. Of course we'll help as much as we can...

    What happens at 25 km/hr?

Not on my Wisper (which has a freewheel in the motor, not sure if the Bionx does). Basically the motor can only spin so fast, above that speed the power drops away as you pedal faster than the motor. It sounds like on the bikes you were riding the motor could spin much faster than 25km/h and...

    Hub Motor Clicking

Sounds exactly like the freewheel in the motor, since it's a) regular b) disappears when the motor is on. i.e. it sounds like it's normal!

Anyone else ordered Trek nano (Cytronex)?

The normal guideline figure for battery life is around 2-3 years, but if you REALLY are only using for 1 mile a day then you might easily get even longer! You should charge it as often as possible (emptying Li-Ion batteries shortens their life), everyday charging would be good.

    Hub Motor Clicking

Clicking? That's a bit unusual. 2 things I can think of: 1) It's the freewheel? 2) Spokes settling in? Loose?

    Comming Bikes

But currently, horrendously inefficient in energy terms to create... (roll on nuclear bikes! :D )

    Homemade *bright* LED light setup

Just ordered 100 5mm 5000mcd red LEDs myself...although I won't be going to the same lengths to line them all up. I'm after visibility from a range of angles, rather than as a headlight, so a bit of higgledy piggledy won't do any harm.

    Alien 36V Conversion Kit

Really? We all thought he used a Suzhou Bafang brushless motor in his kits. Sounds like he's changed. When did you buy the kit? Cheers Steve

"Helmetless cyclists must share blame for injuries, rules judge"

And I think there's the rub in the whole helmet debate. Whilst "common sense" would indicate that wearing a helmet should be safer, it seems the scientific evidence to this effect is not conclusive either way. Personally after looking at a few articles, I think this is because the type of...
