    Agattu help needed

Harry, I'm a bit confused. Your previous posts suggest that on changing your sprocket, initially you had problems refitting the hub operating mechanism and when that was resolved, you then could not get 6/7 gears. Are you now saying that for a short while after this work your gears were ok and...

    Agattu help needed

Yes, this is the replacement wheel which for a short time had all 7 gears working. Because this hub had been ok. unlike the original hub which was always faulty, Lloyd at 50 cycles thought the problem must be other than the hub itself. Am I right in thinking that it was only after changing the...

    Agattu help needed

Hello Harry, any luck with your 6/7 gears problem? The reason I ask is that I now have lost my 6/7 gears also! This happened during a ride - everything appeared to be in order, but no higher gears? 50 cycles think it might be an inner cable fault and have suggested having it changed. I am in...

    The Rider's Gearing

Thank You Flecc I used the website as directed and got exactly the answer to my cadence query. Regarding the front sprocket size - got that from Flecc's Agattu review! i.e 41tooth. This site could be of use to those who are thinking of rear sprocket changes. You can input different sizes...

    The Rider's Gearing

I had not been a cyclist for many years and would not rate myself as being particularly fit. On becoming an Agattu owner, I straight away found it undergeared. This I think is the general opinion of Agattu owners. I changed the sprocket to an 18tooth, still got 40plus miles to a charge (ideal...

    Two Part Agattu Mudguard

My Agattu has spare 5mm drillings each side of the rear forks, adjacent to the sprocket, which would suit the fitting of an extra mudguard stay. Anyone know of an available stay which clips to the mudguard rather than needing a screw fitting - ie not needing additional mudguard drillimgs?

Flickering Lights Hi Musicbooks, Flecc is right, you must not pedal when you switch the power on. If you do, then all 6 lights flash on and off and no assistance is applied. I then switch off and on again without pedalling and wait for the lights to set - approx a second.

I believe Lidl's cycle accessories are available from 7/4/08. Don't forget to check the pump fits your tube valves.

    Cycle Workshop Stand

Unlike ordinary bikes, ebikes are not so easy to flip over for maintenance purposes - my Agattu is a sizeable beast! I thought I might make a workshop stand. Has anyone any ideas/or know of available stands? A photo would be ideal if anyone has a stand. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I couldn,t resist a recent Lidl offer of a cycle computer for £2.99. Since then I have been running it in parallel with my £20 Cateye and the Lidl cheapo is spot on! No difference between the two, but have yet to test it in the wet.

    Agattu first impressions

When I get my 6/7 gears sorted out , I'll let you know. I also can't wait to see any top-end improvement. There certainly has been an improvement in the lower gears without any noticeable loss in battery range. In ideal conditions I've got 40+ miles from a full "Flecc" charge.

shimano hub reliability in the kalkhoffs

Thank you Flecc. I guess what I was trying to say was that to all appearences the gear change seemed ok, but without any change for the benefit. Like you I concluded that there was a manufactured defect and 50 cycles also agree. I believe mine is not the first hub that they have had to...

shimano hub reliability in the kalkhoffs

My Shimano gear hub operates faultlessly and slickly, unfortunately 6 and 7gears are no higher than 5th. The gear adjustment is correct ie the red adjustment marks are in line, so no solution there. I am now waiting for a replacement wheel/hub.

Agattu Lights The front light switch has 3 positions:- Off, On and Auto. Auto is the middle setting and is controlled by a light sensor ie lights come on as daylight diminishes. The rear light remains lit for approx 4mins after the bike is stopped eg at traffic lights. The off switch simply...

    Agattu first impressions

Hi Musicbooks, If you find little difference with 6/7 gears, you may have a faulty gear hub? Having the power on or off does not affect gearing. I reported this 6/7 gear problem to 50 cycles a fortnight ago and I am expecting a replacement wheel and hub this week (fingers crossed). This...

Stirrup Pump Mandy - Flecc's recommendation of a stirrup pump is well worth taking up. In relation to a hand pump, it's like going from an ordinary bike to an e-bike! Argos do a stirrup pump for £8. It fits Schrader and Presta valves and has a pressure gauge. Certainly suitable for the...

    Charger/battery renewal

Erik/Flecc - thank you for the info. I have found a supplier for the spares I need, which includes a new "fresh" battery, not one which has been on a shelf for years. Thanks again for your interest.

    Charger/battery renewal

My wife's charger has packed up - no signs of life at all. I thought I would renew the battery at the same time. After 8yrs, the bike is still only on it's 2nd bttery. As the bike is a Yamaha PAS, I am concerned about the probable long shelf life of any NiCd batteries available? Any thoughts...
