Sugru - A handy little find

I like that stuff too ... KirstinS put me on to it in one of his posts - I've used it quite a bit to make blanking pins for connectors, insulate solder bridges on a double ouput socket made from Deans Connectors, to reinforce my rear lighting mounting bar and lots of other little fiddly...

    New Bosch motor..

... and still a max 11,6Ah battery in the offing. Definitely no prospect of Bosch tempting me on the horizon by the looks of it ! Orbital prices, hundreds of pounds for second batteries and new motors 'tuned out. Wonder if the torque claims will also go the way of the Storck ones and prove to...

So all that accession equality malarkey was because he's getting a 'gal's name' ?

    cycle computer apps?

^^ Highly recommend this kit - dead easy to rig up over a 12V DC-DC converter, has compact fully waterproof switch box with voltage protection, inline fuse holder (although I swapped it for one with an LED indicator) and comes with proper waterproof caps for when not in use. You need the lead...

    500 miles done!

^^ You definitely need to be extra careful riding over 25mph in most conditions except perhaps clear straight quiet open roads.... the 30-40+mph zone is a whole different ball game and frame / construction really needs to be built with a view to riding those speeds. I reckon heavy downhill-type...

    500 miles done!

Make sure you've got some blooming decent brakes too - The stopping distance at >40mph even with hydraulic discs is frightening, especially on a steep downhill. Cars often seem to be able to slow more effectively which can land you in hot water very easily at those speeds even if they're in...

    cycle computer apps?

Definitely. I've got phone coverage for about 20% of my rides max at the moment ! It's like trying to use mobile Wifi on the train

    CST - it's all working

... but well worth the effort (and the climb up the rock with 2 bags of gear !) Best Summer time I've had in Britain these last few weeks. Ever. More than I ever hoped for - but the vision of what was possible was always in the back of my mind throughout the build - even though...

    CST - it's all working

Done another 270 miles in the last 2 weeks and just hit the 500 mile mark since mid-June. Touch wood everything's still OK ! Getting to grips with the cliffside trails ... but the very deep ruts & steps in places are meant for walking not cycling and the paths behind some of the main...

    Shouting swimming teachers

I find the same at any of our local "family beaches" ... it's usually the kids screaming and shouting these days but there for some reason it's the parents  if they're worried what their kids are doing then maybe putting down the can of lager and going over to supervise would be the...

    Anyone recognise these?

I think we can look forward to a load of 'em next week ! If the schools are out 'proper' now it's cue for some blustery fronts and drizzle to head in for the week ;)

    Another faster Bosch option

^^ I'm not sure I'd want it mounted on a stay with a logo like that on show tho'. Wonder what they are charging for that then  .. best bought with a 2nd battery methinks !

My mind is working over-time again, please help me out for me.

.... as you do :p I love cycling in this weather. Build up enough speed and with the warm wind it's the coolest thing to be doing (except taking a dip in the sea !)

Why Bosch Motors should not be under swung on eMTB's..

I've always had severe reservations about buying Bosch. Have to say seeing that's not done much to persuade me I was wrong !

    Chose a cheap Ebike

What an opportune time for a strike ! Will you have more time to share the details of your remote device that restricts the bike's speed unless you are within a few feet once you've retired ?

Recommendations for a hilly commute in Sheffield please

That's good advice.... and remember, you can get serious exercise on an e-bike by turning off assist, turning it down or alternatively riding at max assist and pushing beyond assist levels or riding in higher gears to make it harder. It's all in your own control. e-bikes don't have to make you...

Anyone had an interesting ride recently ?

LOL. I appear to have missed out the word "spot" with rather unintended results . Sometimes the mind works faster than the fingers can type :o !
