    Throttle an Urban Mover today

Hullo and a very happy christmas and new year to everybody (LOHoHo's) Actually this is a very tedious thread indeed concerning the replacement of a throttle on an Urban Mover36. Previous one hasn't worked for awhile so I have replaced it with a new standard h.e. 3 wire throttle - previous had...

    Suppressed Inventions

Yup, it's all true. I have a friend who smoked cannabis and swears he never felt better in his life. And now the Government are wanting to put him in gaol before he tells anyone else about this wonderful discovery!

    connectors

XT60 connectors are about the best of the bunch but can be a nightmare to solder to 8 or 10awg wire. I even bought a big 100watt soldering iron but it still didnt help much. Then I found some solder with a low melting point of about 175C. This had a high siver content of about 4% and since then...

Hooking up 48v what will happen?

Well d8veh I've always been a respecter of your HO and agree that 12s/2p would really make ady's bike zip. In my own 9 months experience of the set-up I've had one short circuit, a smoldering shoe, and one cheapo imax b6 up in smoke for no apparent reason, but at least the house hasn't burnt...

Hooking up 48v what will happen?

Lipo is a stupid and irresponsible suggestion for a newby that probably hasn't the time, skills or appreciation of danger this chemistry involves.

Hooking up 48v what will happen?

Your cheapest option woiuld be to buy another sla 12v for 48v, assuming you can fit it inside that central cargo carrier. Or you could pick up a s/h lithium battery at 36v and 10a/h (£140) do a fairly easy shunt mod on the controller and prob get a little more speed and poss twice the range. A...

Reached the limit of my brompton..

Cwah, two hours is a long time drfilling for oil. You don't need a hammer drill, you need a brain surgeon. Also a cobalt drill bit of various sizes and a fixed drill press, some large leather gauntlets and eye protection goggles. By the way I love your show.

Cycle computer stops working with new lights

I had a wireless bike computer once which I threw out presumeably because it didnt work very well. Perhaps it was a similar interference issue with the 3 speed switch on the handlebar? I believe the T6 is a good, bright and sensibly priced solution to the darkness problem around these isles at...

Cycle computer stops working with new lights

Apparently this has been an issue of late since the introduction of the T6 in certain areas which can cause localised interference with covert CID/MI6 transponder cuni-waveform output. Best not use it at full beam or you'll have the 'boys in blue' at the doorstep anytime soon! Best regards hech.

    GNC for hill climbing

Thanks D8vey, I'm running the tonaro on 12s peaking about 1300w and am sure it would climb just about anywhere but both us could lose some weight hence the new build. I heard here I think that the 36v single stage motor ran a bit fast for comfort, it's not possible fit a bigger chainwheel?

    GNC for hill climbing

I was wondering if anyone could help me with some advice regarding the GNC kits, especially from the chap in the UK on ebay. I am looking for a trials type setup with plenty of torque for offroad. Had thought about the 48v brushless but there seem to be doubts about the primary belt...

    DIY battery for Tonaro

I know there aren't many hills in Australia and you seem apparently uncorrupted as yet by power lust, but the Tonaro responds very well indeed to 12s lipo and it will zip you up AYERS ROCK in the blink of a wombats eyelid! The battery compartment will take 4 6s bricks at a squeeze but best fit...

    Hydraulic disks on ebikes

I don't understand why all ebikes with the possible exception of the cheapest budget options are not equipped with effective hydraulic brakes. Seems like the most basic safety precaution.
