Which kit, and hydraulic front brakes an issue?

But just because you can fit on a bike doesnt make it the right size. Really, the Aurora is bigger than i'd like at 6' with a 33" inside leg. A typical mountain bike frame for the average 5'9-10" rider is 18". I usually ride 19-20" frames.

    Schwalbe Marathon

Running one bike with Marathon Plus tyres and one with Marathon Plus Tour i've not had a puncture in the last six months of using them. I was getting fed up of flats on my normal tyres. Both sets were very hard to get on the rims though.

All the numberplates are readable before the video is compressed by YouTube.

    Wisper Alpino ....hill beater

Well it's just stopped raining, so *maybe*, i'll give it half an hour or so. I do enough riding in the rain on the way to work!

I think they dislike bike stuff more. Its much more expensive :p

    Wisper Alpino ....hill beater

I'm going to go for a ride with my dad tomorrow (weather permitting), see if i can talk him into taking on Holcombe Hill on his 905. I think it will cope, its so close to the Aurora in power terms anyway.

Yes, the camera comes with a HDMI cable and it looks jaw dropping on my HDTV. YouTube does lower the quality quite a lot, it especially seems to have lost sharpness. I'm hoping to improve it a little yet though. I still have huge amounts to learn about video editing, just taking my first few...

No warranty on it? The difference between my two is huge. 15x the price, obviously not 15x better, but perhaps 5x better quality. One big positive on the HDmax... i can read all the car numberplates!:)

Yes, around roundabouts and tricky junctions it feels a lot safer to be able to keep up with cars. Once the road straightens out they come past though, the Aurora tops out at 21mph and its very hard to pedal beyond that due to the weight.

    Hydraulic Front Brake - Wisper

You wont get one for £40 from any decent brand. Avid Juicy 3's are probably the best budget hydro disc at £50-60, but as above, you'll lose the cut-out. If Wisper sell their DaaHub cut-out switches they might work for you. Best to check with Wisper.

    Brake disc upgrade.

Nope, i'm 16 stone and also carry a lot. Tools, laptop, change of clothes, huge u-lock. :o The brakes on my Aurora are nearly as good as the Avid Juicy hydraulics on my MTB, they only really lose out on feel, not power. Be careful with road-bikes, they can be very uncomfortable for daily...

    A. Nope, i've abandoned all mirrors on the Aurora because i've not found one that works well with it. B. I leant over the kerb. I don't undertake lorries unless i'm certain they cant move anywhere, and i could see the cars in front and the red light. C. Experience on that stretch tells me...

I bought a 32gb MicroSD for the HDmax, which is amazing that such a tiny thing can hold 6 or 7 hours of HD video. I tried uploading the samples last night, but my internet connection dropped twice while i was doing it. Its going to take a while, 3x 500mb videos.

True. I suspect i may be able to ride almost any distance on the Aurora on low assist because my light pedalling exceeds the assist speed all the time on the flat. When spring/summer finally arrives i'll try some VERY long rides.

    camcorder for helmet

My HDmax arrived this morning. I've not had much chance to play yet, as i'm in work, but i'll mount it up for the trip home and post some video later. Agreed with the helmet camera problems, but the bar mount also misses cars emerging from side roads quite badly, whereas you can acknowledge...

    Body protection?

I've worn downhill body armour and a full face helmet before. I wouldnt want to do any length of time in it in summer, even without pedalling.
