    Magura hydraulic brake cut-off switch

Well I've dismantled everything and found the source of the problem. The replacement hose insert has disappeared inside the olive from the original switch and will not come out. That must be why the leak was occurring at that point. Looks like I must have pulled on it at some point or maybe...

    Magura hydraulic brake cut-off switch

Been back to check today and there'a a slight weep developed on the brake lever side of the switch. Anything most likely to have caused this ? May have rejoiced too soon ;) ...

    Magura hydraulic brake cut-off switch

When I finally finish this bike and get it all boxed in, might be my cue to break my abstinence and reward myself with a bevvie (not had a drink for over 5 months as part of a LONG self-imposed "sort your health out" bootcamp ... it's no wonder I've been getting uptight lol). A proper incentive...

    Magura hydraulic brake cut-off switch

Bit like trying to read without knowing the alphabet sometimes ! Great thing with skills rather than knowledge though, is that once you learn 'em you have 'em. Lived half my life abroad including my first 16 years where someone else looked after pretty much everything for all of us. It's not...

    Magura hydraulic brake cut-off switch

Dunno on the dot 3 - it was brown and looked viscous - assumed that was what it was. All things are simple when you know how. I've never done this sort of stuff before amigafan, and read all sorts of conflicting and contradictory info on the net about what / how to do many things. With no-one...

    Magura hydraulic brake cut-off switch

Landmark success tonight, just completed this installation. Replacement brass insert for hydraulic brake cable arrived from Chainreaction this afternoon and was exactly right (thanks again amigafan – you saved me an expensive knee-jerk over-reaction !). The Magura inserts fitted inside the...

    Hackspace for Electronic Projects

:) ... H&S always the issue I guess. Found myself at the local police auction on Tuesday looking lustfully at second hand bench mounted workshop tools. They were more designed for industrial use unfortunately :(. Was so tempted to bid for things I don't have the workspace to accommodate ... but...

    Building in CREE light

LOL. Stick with me now .... the end may be in sight I know ... but I'm sure it'll be lovely and tactile when you stroke it ;) ... I can be as bad as a woman in a handbag shop when it comes to fittings ... Please do elaborate :( What fundamental concept have I failed to grasp this time...

    Building in CREE light

Fantastic - I can tap the drop wire then rather than the main one ? Will have different circuits at different voltages (9v, 12v, 3.7V at the moment - will be clearer when I can see exactly how to get the lights to work and the voltage I am allowed to run each of them at). Thus need to...

    Building in CREE light

OK this starting to make sense working things through ... have to agree on the chocolate boxes - I had in mind something like a block with solder terminals (see other additional circuits thread post with question about BUS blocks, which I thought might be a solution after hours of trawling...

    Building in CREE light

In my head the main circuit is what feeds into one side of the block and will have to come out of the other side also - and there is a 12AWG wire feeding this because at the moment that is the only supply (to the controller). Think I phrased my question confusingly - I am assuming the...

    Building in CREE light

Quick question .... if to make life simple I run a separate supply to each light over its own DC-DC (the cost is negligible) then is this going to prevent me controlling bringing them on via a single switch (which is whole point of the exercise) ? I used this coz d8veh said it was better than...

    Hackspace for Electronic Projects

Really great . Would love to have something like that within cycling distance ... still haven;t worked out how I'm going to make brackets for my lights or bike box without outlaying for even more tools . A hackspace with metalworking equipment would be the answer to a prayer for...

It almost seems like they do it deliberately to push people to one set of compatible products the phone manufacturer wants to promote sometimes ....

    Speedict Support

OK - keep us posted  ... seems to be a lot of issues - hope they are not ones which cause problems every time there is an upgrade or change to phone OS ?!

    Building in CREE light

I'd struggle to get 2 12AWG wires into one segment hole let alone 6 ... so I still need to get 6 loop wires into segment A hole to loop into 1 to 2 1 to 3 1 to 4 etc. .... or just one from 1 to 2 then another from 2 to 3 and so on like that ... Do the loop wires need to be rated as...
