    36v horn

Thanks a lot Mike. Actually just back from trying it the other way round, after getting impatient for a change lol. It actually did also work with kill LIVE to BUSbar, kill 0V to horn, +ve from fuse box to other horn terminal) ... and doesn't seem to matter which horn terminal is used for +ve...

    Latest mods to my Kraken.

Any other mods needed, d8veh - or does it fit a 42T triple chainring OK ? It looks good. Might get one and then see if I'm up to fitting it ... the seller of the other one I bought that didn't work kindly refunded me less postage which was decent of him.

New Light runs direct from battery.

UK kit prices are astronomically expensive. Even our imports are now getting pricier as the £ took a dive. With shipping costs it's not exactly a cheap option to convert a bike unless you discount the value of the donor bike to zero, when you compare to cost of cheaper eBikes with 250W motors...

    36v horn

Interesting - never knew that. The guy I asked to confirm switch suitable was told about the setup and the 36v battery and seemed to think it would be fine just to wire up using the method he described but I don't understand what that means in terms of what wires go where. The switch is of the...

    36v horn

Be very grateful for a bit of help wiring this horn up to my particular switch / power rig. Switch has 2 wires relating to the momentary switch (usually used as a kill switch) as follows : BLACK - Kill switch power WHITE - Kill switch ground The rest of the coloured wires are for power in...

Ready to go to the Common!

My folks in law used to cycle with their wee Scottie in a basket like that for years without a mishap. A lot of people did in those days. Seriously doubt the dog would attempt to jump out of the carrier at any speed - but if the bike did go over likelihood is he'd jump clear without much...

    Cycle analyst-formerly called drainbrain

That's a huge relief, d8veh. No, don;t have it yet. But I drew the line at $55 shipping by courier versus $15 by mail. Was from Canada so I'm sure it would have been here by now if they hadn't sat on the order for 4 working days before promising to ship it  The DC-DC converters and...

    E bike conversion kit.

Don't have any experience of Falco kits. Have you considered BMS kits ? They accept a hydraulic brake cut-off switch .. if you use one of these in the hydraulic line and just swap the connector, KU controller takes this in the low voltage brake wire : BionX Press Switch for Magura brakes |...

Did you decide to go ahead with this, mountainsport ? Hope you don't mind me jumping in on this thread rather than starting a new one but wondered if anyone can give me the dimensions of the molded shunt that has to be wired in between battery and controller on v.2.3 CA ? Can't find them...

^^ that's great but so far as I can tell from searching, they're no longer available - perhaps discontinued ?

    CST - it's all working

Thanks d8veh ... FINALLY, I have mudguards. Tredz sent them out without any fixing brackets, but no quibbles - they got me the brackets on back order and sent out, and I finally got them yesterday. These must be some of the only mudguards that'll readily fit that frame. As you...

    Bright Bike Light

If you subscribe to Sunday Times (or bought today's paper), might find this article interesting : This The C&B Seen light I mentioned above is actually cited in this article s the brightest light tested :o In town I use it with wide angle lens, which as well as squaring off the beam pattern...

    Front bike light comparison viewer

That's a very good little tool. Check out the Knog Boomer USB for £32.99, Moon Comet @ £30 etc... - be absolutely terrifying going in there with one of those !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Magicshine MJ-808E is closest to one of the single Cree T6 lights for £17.49 upwards ....

    Bright Bike Light

They are usually very good lights - and a mile better than the sort of rubbish you buy in Halfords for £50. The big differences in these Magicshine knock-offs (apart from the battery pack quality) to look out for are : 1) Battery pack case - some are better than others and most need velcro...

    e-Brompton after thousand of miles

That rim has had its day - definitely time for a new one - it's not worth trying to save it (imho). It's not just the bulge - braking at high speed lots will wear rim (and brake pads) - and that rim has LOTS of wear. Maybe best check your brake pads too (!) - if brakes failed going fast ...

    Magicshine MJ-818 3W rear light

Yes I know what you mean about needing things small - you run out of space really quick even on a MTB !! I haven't seen a Mars Blackburn 4.0 to check it out. The MJ-818 will not necessarily come on at all when you turn the battery on. You have to go to the light and turn the bezel to get it...
