Difference in manufacturer speed cutoff points

Recently on a speed awareness course as an alernative to points and fine there were folk who'd been doing anywhere in a 30 limit from 33mph and 48mph. My KTM eRace P is quite abrubt on its own speedo at cutting off at the 15.5 mark and on my other calibrated speedo it indicates at least a 1 mph...

    Liability....

I personaly can't see it being a problem if or until pedlecs become a problem like the scourge of incicidents involving mini-motos which can only cost from £100 or so - which were a bit more obvious by their appearance, sound and their cheap relative availibilty compared to push bike derived...

    Liability....

But are Bosch concerned about motors being derestricted once the warranty period expires? Of concern should be the parts supply chain for common component parts as you know (over two months for a rim) esp. for a still in production bike - anyway that's another topic.

    Liability....

What happens when the KTM is out of warranty? - Surely it shouldn't be a problem that the owner should be able to make any modifications they want to make. inc. performance enhancements. I know the German TUV system for motorbikes can be officious about owners fitting aftermarket mods and only...

    Giant talon e+

A few months ago I popped into my local Giant dealership and asked if they had one of their new Giant Talon electric bikes available to test ride but all got was a blank look, much as if I'd asked for an atomic powered pushbike. Took my custom elsewhere...

    Hi....in need of KTM advice....

46.8V / 12Ah = 562 Wh Col - Will the new larger capacity battery plug&play in older 2014 models? is the battery the same size and weight? The older 8.8Ah battery is giving me more than enough range and capability just looking forward a few years when it'll need replacing/upgrading.

    Hi....in need of KTM advice....

Good point RobF - the KTM's charger is about the size of a hand and quite light so feasible to carry & charge up at destination. As a comparison with mixed eco/standard and high settings used on my 20 odd mile mixed bag journey it shows as 75-80% battery left.

    Hi....in need of KTM advice....

Have a search as I have a KTM eRace P 29 with a panasonic hub motor - Very torquey and excels at uphill climbs. It came with chunky tires easily swapped for more versatile and durable puncture resistant Schwalbe Big Apple Pluses. Get a test ride on a variety of bikes to see what suits you.

    Woosh CD Sport Disc Brakes

Placcy things could be brake pad spacers presumably to drop into the caliper so when you have a wheel out to stop the braking action and pistons pushing out if you inadvertently applied the brake lever. I scratched my head when I got some with my KTM.

    Puncture Repair Kits

As the bar ends clamp on the outer part of the bar by an inch at most, can't the throttle grip be moved inward a tad so the bar end won't interfere with the action?

    Replacement Chain

When I had a test ride before buying at Redbridge I took ithe KTM a couple of laps around the mountain bike course that runs around the road circuit - I'm no expert but I didn't fall off or have to get off and push. Read up on it (there's a couple or three on this forum) and we all agree it is...

    Replacement Chain

KTM eRace P with puncture resistant tyres fits the bill :) If you really have to remove the wheel in the field then all you need is a 15mm spanner, unhook some velcro, and disconnect two connectors - Simples

50 Mile round trip commute, feasible or not?

If you can't shorten the range by going at least part the way by train / car - Sounds like a 125cc motorcycle would be better suited for your needs.
