    reliable connectors

I'm impressed with them. As a temporary quick-and-dirty method to allow dis/connect from battery /control box /charger I just fitted a matching pair of those, meaning to get all permanent switchy later. Like so many temporary solutions it's remained in place and a year later is still making...

BMW adds a 70 mph e-scooter to the range

Good God - and they said the Bubble Car was dead. Frankly, I'd rather have one of the originals, because that must be one of the ugliest microcars I've ever clapped eyes on. How cool would it be to have an original (or repro) Messerschmidt two-seater tricycle, but electrically powered?

    Hanging's too good, etc.

    Pedal not peddle!

In some parts, the bikes are known as 'treaders'.

I thought peddle power referred to car boot sales.

    itv4 cycle show

Yep, it was dire. Gary Fisher was just eccentric but probably deserved a programme more about him and what he did for cycling. Graeme Obree was wired up to a Mars Bar by the look of him and again, likely needed more of an airing on him alone. Mansell, while doing some good stuff in the cycling...

    Blow up

Yep. I fitted a 2.25" Fat Frank and it just fits, but doing the same again, I'd likely just go for the 2" to avoid any worries about sidewall rubbing. The comfort difference is amazing, though. That fat tyre, combined with sus front and sprung seat is like riding on air.

tyre change? 1.95 to 1.5... will they make much difference?

Yes, you really notice it when you're on pedal power only. Otoh, being motorised removes that drag of knobbly tyres and reminds me I have to ditch the knobbler on the front. Who knows, the reduced RR might pay off in slightly lower power consumption - it all adds up.

    A2 B on AliExpress

If this thread was removed and someone who might otherwise have seen it (remember, google will show this up) goes and purchases what they think is the real McCoy, only to find it's a ripoff copy, I don't think they'd be best pleased. This thread being in place is a forewarning of trouble avoided...

    Battery Getting Stronger ? ?

Hah, if I'd only known, I would have, too.

    Another bike redesign

The saddle is the "Butt-Kisser", made by Arsenal Comfort Co. Seriously, I came across a range of saddles like that recently - all of them looked... strange, but some folk swear by them.

    New e-bikes and batteries announced

And the dog in the shed working a treadmill generator overnight... Aye, British grit and gumption.

    Nice idea but...

I see irony is dead around here. The second line might have been a clue I wasn't being entirely serious.

At least we gave them Christianity and an outlet for their slaves. So not all bad.

    Thoroughly despicable behaviour.

Londoner Bradley Wiggins wins the Tour de France

I never took to Coulthard anyway - and I'm Scottish. Such an outburst is way beyond the pale; if he can't find anything good to say about today's well-deserved victory, the prat should just keep his gob shut.

    Nice idea but...

It's not even as if Dyson invented the concept of the cyclone - such a device was used in wood workshop vacuums but on a much bigger scale, years before his device. To give some credit, an invention is a novel application or combination of several existing technologies, so I could grudgingly...
