There's a blacklist of ebay buyers, here. Mostly US based, but might be a useful tool. The Official eBay Blacklist: The Blocked Buyer/Bidder List (Updated: 2/22/2012)

    Loose spokes

You're doing it right - just run the wheel in eye-line from the end and to the side and see if it's still round and non-wobbly. Only 3 spokes just tightened up to what they should be won't have made a difference to the true-ness. Loose spokes within the first few hundred miles aren't uncommon.

    HobbyKing UK open now!!

Excellent, if they keep the prices reasonable. Of course, they aren't daft and know the UK market is quite lucrative, so just like every other enterprise they might jack their prices up so that it's just worth your while to buy from them and weigh up the benefit of a local supplier versus the...

    Seagull's the name!

How very true, in retrospect. Even my own effort, which involved converting a personal steed, didn't turn out as cheap as I hoped. I reckon I've got nearly a thousand Euros in that, not including the original bike purchase - but if I didn't have that I would have needed to go and get a...

    DIY Torque Arm Advice Needed

Frankly, I wouldn't trust an epoxy-welded torque arm.

A volt is a volt and an amp is an amp

Well, today I got home from a ride and the battery was 50% discharged, so dug out a plug-in timer and connected the charger up with 1/2hour on/off intervals. I was varnishing the stair, as you do, when I heard this whining noise - the charger had got a bit warm on one of the cycles and lo and...

Cyclist jumps red light & very severely injures pedestrian - fined only £800

Thankfully, there are no traffic lights within 20 miles of me, but back when I used to encounter them frequently I would dismount, sprint (that goes to show how long ago it was) across the junction on foot and hop on the bike at the other side. Time it right and the loss of time is minimal.

    The New 2012 Xipi

Well, as I said, by the time we get around to it, the Indians and Chinese will have shown us a clean pair of heels on it and we'll be buying the tech from them - shameful.

    A Dilemma.....Advice Needed

I despise these sheeeyitehawks that sell items as "untested", for it almost invariably means they're fully aware the things are knackered.

I'm talking about thorium reactors, not conventional. A whole different kettle of boiling whizzy things. If the reactors at Chernobyl and Fukushima had been thorium, people would likely still be living on the near doorstep. That said, conventional nukes, although problematic, have a very good...

A volt is a volt and an amp is an amp

Absolutely! Stroke of genius, my man. I have a few of those too; and I was using them for similar applications, just never connected the dots. I did think of fitting a fan to the charger case, but it seemed like such a pita to do.

A volt is a volt and an amp is an amp

Yes, it's those 2.6Ah fatpacks (smaller ones are 1.3Ah and not worth the bother) Six in parallel, so current limiting isn't a problem :) Even with four parallel it was fine. I read that ES thread from the beginning, two years ago and kept up with it - slightly disappointed there's been no recent...

A volt is a volt and an amp is an amp

I've been noticing my Bosch charger doesn't like it much when I have to recharge my six Fatpacks (10 LiMn cells per battery, in series to give 36V - then six Fatpacks in parallel presented to the controller or charger) It copes well enough if I've only use 3.0Ah but anything above 7.0Ah, it...

    The New 2012 Xipi

    1. Nothing foolish about Nukes - although I would prefer Thorium reactors. By the time we get around to it, the Indians and Chinese will be well ahead and sell us their technology. 2. A fly in a bottle had more credibility. 3. You don't think there are? Many new cars for the past decade have an...
