Regular exercise on an electric bike pays dividends

It's not just weight loss, the e-bike benefits me by making it easier to get my blood sugar level down, too. E-bikes are the greatest invention ever (maybe apart from the lightbulb) and cycling was in danger of becoming just a memory when I found out about motor kits. My knees, although still...

    extra battery

The Americans spent a fortune designing neat little electrical control systems for their attitude and reaction thrusters on the Apollo and subsequent craft. One of the first American astronauts to visit the Russian Mir station was intrigued to see "The Russian Solution" - lever valves. KISS, indeed.

What is the best legal crank drive bike available?

Exactly so. The China-bashers would do well to remember that some dreadful crap was and is produced in Britain and Europe too. At the lower end of the market there was some awful stuff. The quality of Chinese production ranges from dreadful crap to top-notch, and there's no reason to tar it all...

    Order from GreenBikeKit

Oh, I do like the look of that Green Bike Kit supplier - since a couple of days ago, a lot more stuff has appeared on their site and at good prices, too. I'm inclined to look seriously at them as a supplier for my next project bits and pieces.

    Electric glue gun suitability

Get the non-acetic cure one, if you can. The ordinary stuff gives off acetic acid as it cures, and that attacks circuit boards, wires, joints.

90% of my ebike issue come from the wires

I'd also dump the bullet connectors and use something decent instead. They're designed for 1950s cars, not modern ebikes, and they're taking motor phase current. Also, there's nothing wrong with crimps if you use the proper tool, properly, which most people don't. Soldering is fraught with...

    Electric glue gun suitability

Yes, it can be softened and removed again. That's a generalisation - there are many types of glue in sticks, but the ones I've used, that's true for them. In fact, some of the ones I've used the glue was so useless it just cracked off later when it got a bit colder. Problem with these general...

    Brightest possible front light

They don't have to be; have a look at Torchy's site and be prepared to gasp at the outrageous prices being asked (and paid) for some very mediocre lights. Also, how cheaply you can get some very good lighting indeed, and that's not including the recommendations already given on this page, some...

    Brightest possible front light

Really dishonest illustration pics at the bottom - taken in daylight. Ah, Torchy; now he's an honest seller of chargers and 18650s that won't burn your house down. Him and "big_f_d_d".
