    Building in CREE light

Thanks Tillson. The lighting setups I'm trying to build are for my new conversion and would run off a 36v 20Ah battery from BMS. The Kalkhoff has built-in front dynamo (permanent backup, trying to replicate or improve on for new bike without paying £200-odd to install a top-end front wheel...

    Building in CREE light

Considering building in one of these and either modding the existing battery pack to remain inside triangle box or making up a bigger separate battery with more battery life to fuel it : HOT 3 x CREE XM-L T6 LED 4000LM Bicycle bike HeadLight Lamp Light Headlamp | eBay This would be for use as...

T6 heads in proper multi units

That looks mint... I was going to ask the seller if they could supply the switch in addition to the dimmer unit on its own to hook up to different lights if the ones he was supplying were going to draw too much current :). Having a pair (or one like I bought already for 36v) with a hi-low output...

New Light runs direct from battery.

Have you come across any more like this, Old_Dave ? It's no longer available from them but interesting to investigate further as getting diffuser lenses proving hard for this diameter. Will do - just getting back to looking at lighting and there is bound to be a decent way of modding if the...

T6 heads in proper multi units

Think I know where I might get one from for the handlebars. How about I use the converter to step down the voltage from 36v battery to 24V rather than 12V ... am I right in thinking this will result in the main lights drawing only 0.4Amps and therefore consuming virtually negligible power and...

Built-in bike lighting - everything you could really want / need for £100

Lol. Old_Dave, I only use my powerful lights on dark lanes when there are many speeding drink drivers who only respond to seeing lights ahead of time round the bend and dip in anticipation. It is a death wish riding at night on those single track lanes without them. I use my dynamo lights a lot...

Built-in bike lighting - everything you could really want / need for £100

I guess you could try with caulk but doubt it would work very well or last very long. The Aluminium plate over the LEDs is precise-cut and there is no lens so nowhere to slot an o-ring. The aluminium plate interface with the lamps is not sealed and the wiring is directly beneath the lamps...

Built-in bike lighting - everything you could really want / need for £100

I ordered them Old_Dave but they're about 1/10 of the brightness I want so are not going to be good enough without buying yet more lights. Really fed up of charging light batteries and strapping them on handlebars lol.

Built-in bike lighting - everything you could really want / need for £100

Gaah - I don't understand how you work those numbers out .. I thought from this that lights didn't use much battery : http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/electric-bicycles/13628-new-light-runs-direct-battery.html I bought one of those but they're not suitable for external mounting - not...

Built-in bike lighting - everything you could really want / need for £100

Could be a lost plot or a hatched one ;) Seriously, Old_Dave is this going to work as a package with the switch rigged up to allow me to run on full power by turning on and on a preset low power (dipped) by flicking it off (using that step-down converter and a BMS 36V battery as main source)

Built-in bike lighting - everything you could really want / need for £100

Came across this and I think I'm going to buy 'em. Would love to get my head round how to put this together myself and be able to access the parts too, but I'm not making much progress on that front at the moment and would like to see a clear plan to just go for. Looking at the package it's...

Finally bought a smaller folder for conversion...

^^ yes the Marathon+ tours are only really meant for the lightest of "off-roading". Looking for something with a bit more "bite" myself for the new back wheel but in a 26" .... there's widespread support for puncture-proof Marathon+ and Conti Winter IIs but it there an equivalent tyre up to the...

    CST - it's all working

Keen to go down this route now d8veh. Bit of time away helps to clear the head sometimes :). The 2-throttle setup sounds ideal. I'm going to make absolutely certain I've got room for a 2nd throttle on the LHS but assuming there's space, do you by any chance have any spare thumb throttles kicking...

T6 heads in proper multi units

^^ I'm thinking for an eBike to use in Rural area, 2 brackets below the handlebars with a pair of the lights in your post above on mount 1 wired in as main beam and 2 of these which Geebee linked recently wired in as 'dipped beam' on the other bracket : Waterproof 3W 1000~1300lm LED White Light...

T6 heads in proper multi units

2 lights and a switch between them to turn one light on and the other off in lieu of one light with a dip function ? Makes sense.... reckon a similar setup might be best way to go on the e-bike. Must get to grips !!

    Magura hydraulic brake cut-off switch

Thanks tillson. Interesting re: the Citroen fluid - usual story on the branding by the looks of it ! Should be OK with just syringe & tubes as the brakes are older style Shimano with a reservoir next to the brake lever, just the switch being Magura needing different oil. So should be all set to...

    CST - it's all working

@d8veh - was looking at the switch diagram ... can the switch I have be wired to work for both a cruise control setup like yours and also serve as a battery isolator via the same toggle switch, or would I need a 2nd switch for that (it's fine if I do as long as I can fit all the switches and...

    DHL Duty & Vat charges

The cellphone on mount under a protective case means doing stuff on a touchscreen whilst riding (even using eGloves, the conductive pads of which lasted about 4 weeks before losing effectiveness) is pretty much a theory rather than a practical possibility.... in anything other than fingerless...
