BMSBattery/PayPal buyer protection warning for "extra shipping cost"

A warning to fellow pedelecers that when BMSBattery send you an email like this: "hi, we are sending your order by DHL ,but your shipping cost is not enough ,you need to pay extra $25." as they have just done with me, you need to be aware that if your entire order is made via more than one...

    Bright Lights

My lcd display connector (the compact Kunteng one which elifebike sell) has two extra wires going out into a separate connector for a light. Would it work just to connect the two wires from the Banggood light, onto these two wires which are designed for an ebike light (assuming I can work out...

I have ordered 7 sets of 36v connectors with my battery a few days ago from bmsb, they cost pennies and I would be happy to send you out a set when they arrive. Alternatively you could check your order status in your profile, and if.it's not sent yet, email bmsb asking them for.a quote for (or.to...

    Aliexpress scammer dilemma

So I don't know whether to play hardball for a few more bucks refund for a controller case i bought for $18.38US (£11.75), which said it was "white coloured" in the headline and in the photo, and turned out to be the standard mid-grey. The photo had just been photoshopped. I bought it just to...

    XiongDa Two-Speed Motor

That's right I forgot. I actually emailed them to ask if they could please consider labelling more powerful motors as 250w for their wholesalers, for the sake of customers like myself.

I wonder if bafang would be willing to do this with the 500w motors too

Using bike as static fitness ride in Winter

I was thinking you could attach objects with some weight to parts of the wheel or spokes to make turning the pedals a bit more effortfful. I think that's part of how some exercise bikes work, I think in conjunction with a brake like you're talking about.

    Sat Nav for cycling

Aha but can a dedicated satnav give you a selection of routes of varying quietness or rapidity including bike-only paths? I believe some apps permit downloading of data (the electronic bike path maps are public data).

    Sat Nav for cycling

Much sympathy with that view. There is an argument to be made that it's worth *paying* to be free of these addictive things. The only serious downsides I can think of are missing out on last minute get-togethers,getting lost, and losing one's companions. Although the infrequency of all that is...

    Sat Nav for cycling

My Sony Xperia z1 compact is waterproof to 1.5 metres or so and cost 170 new. Its processor is so powerful it can run several satnav apps simultaneously without breaking a sweat. It can be plugged into the bottle battery, and put under a protective cover (eg the waterproof cycle mobile holders)...

Using a lightweight generator to charge Bosch e-bike battery

I've been reading about the Cycle Satiator charger, 1kg and charges up to 8a. That would charge most batteries in under two hours -but can the batteries take it? If so it would seem a potentially superior solution even to a second battery, let alone a generator. One could just buy a coffee, have...

    Sat Nav for cycling

You MUST try the apps cyclestreets and Bike Hub -both dedicated bike satnavs. you put one earbud in your left ear and the phone in your pocket and.it.sends you on your choice of route style, quietest, quickest, it's amazing. Both apps buggy, BH less so. If anyone knows of better ones please say.

Using a lightweight generator to charge Bosch e-bike battery

Such a good idea. Yes that makes sense re the campsite. Do you think a 270 rpm bpm/cst could cut it, with a trailer?

Has anyone sought single vehicle approval and insurance, for a 250-1000w 15.5mph ebike?

Using a lightweight generator to charge Bosch e-bike battery

Yes I hear you Johnny - it does sound a pain now that you mention it. The one I'm looking at (albeit with huge scepticism) is 8kg before fuel; are they terribly noisy these things? There's a chap on Endless Sphere designing a 5kg one, but it's a way off, and if it's incredibly loud then maybe...

Please suggest a compatible Controller for my bike

Oh dear, was yours stolen too? I ask as someone else here has and a hundred is too dear really given it's designed poorly to avoid theft. Or was it an electrical fault out of warranty?
