    Best Value Electric MTB

Sorry if hijacking thread but while we're on the subject, will a motor run above 20a, say 23 or 26 or even 30, be OK with or would it damage a 14.5 ah with Samsung 29Es, and a 30a fuse? Same with 16a of 32As and 20a continuous discharge rating? Oops -looks like bmsb have taken latter off sale...

Cycle touring in Europe - whether to use an integrated or external controller

Thanks I didn't know that. I realise after reading that, that it would be difficult to anticipate which bit (display, etc) could need replacing due to whatever cause, and of course the waterproof harness items are not interchangeable with cheapo parts, some of which I already own and can keep...

Cycle touring in Europe - whether to use an integrated or external controller

I realise from what's being said that the cost of a new integrated set means I can't have one on standby in the way I can with an external - so I could be waiting on a campsite for a week or more for it to arrive from China. I didn't think of that one.

Cycle touring in Europe - whether to use an integrated or external controller

As the title goes - I'm planning a European cycle tour, and can't decide to go with an integrated or external controller. The integrated (the new 09-bottle-battery-type, it's part of the lockable battery setup) seems more difficult to vandalise or steal. However if anything goes wrong with...

Volt metro LCD Stolen!!! Please suggest an alternative?

Perhaps if you explain to them yours was stolen they might be willing to sell one at cost price on this occasion. Although you'd probably best keep it secret if they do agree ;-)

Volt metro LCD Stolen!!! Please suggest an alternative?

Just to point out (I need to do a new thread on this LOL) that if you register and log into BMSB the delivery costs nearly halve - I got £11.52 delivery, total £34.02. I'd wondered for a long time why the postage was so expensive, it's a glitch.

Bafang CST 180mm vibration/resonance at low revs when using KU93 controller

I might have blown something in the controller when the first 810 display blew. It kept shutting down a second after switching on, and then I held down the power button and the 810 heated up and went pop and now just doesn't work (it's fully lit and 'dumb' when connected to the controller). It...

Bafang CST 180mm vibration/resonance at low revs when using KU93 controller

Thank you - I'll begin this on Saturday when I pick up my electrical tester, fingers crossed.

Bafang CST 180mm vibration/resonance at low revs when using KU93 controller

I've now tried all four combinations on the right side of the bike, with the magnet disc and pedal direction, unfortunately no joy. I would change the side of the bike which the pas hall sensor is on, but it is fixed by an intricate setup and the pas worked alright with the previous...

Bafang CST 180mm vibration/resonance at low revs when using KU93 controller

Thanks D8veh. I've now tried both pas sensors on both sides, pedalling in both directions, unfortunately without any luck. I have now added a790 LED display , wired up as in the photograph. I believe the yellow and white wires are for a light and I have left them not connected to anything...

    VOlt metro LCD Stolen!!!

Oh dear, sorry to hear this. I don't know if you know but it's possible to set up a product listing alert on eBay using keywords and perhaps categories. Good luck. Have you had a word with volt or the retailer about a replacement, how much are they asking? If a lot then it's possible some of...

    Lithium Battery Woes

Ah that's interesting - the hybrid buses which I'm familiar with in London automatically switch their engines off at idle. I think that's to get the co2 emissions down as far as poss. Could be undercharging as a result.

Doesn't even have single vehicle approval. Wouldn't get it either. Deathtrap.

Question re what conversion kit will allow slow-pedalling/give knees a rest

Oh dear -I'm upset to hear I was perceived as being rude. I do have a thin skin sometimes but on this occasion I was just worried that someone reading might think I was just indeed wasting my time and thus refrain from giving me needed assistance with this case. Ironically I seem to have made...

Question re what conversion kit will allow slow-pedalling/give knees a rest

Flecc, neither of the Parliament and Commission are supreme in the EU legal order, the Member States are, through the Treaties, and what is in the Treaties is interpreted by the CJEU. It doesn't matter whether the Commission admits to being wrong, what matters is what the CJEU holds to be the...

    Urban Mover replacement battery

There is a Chinese company called m5power.com whose alleged representative came on this forum a while back, claiming to produce the batteries which urban mover uses, however if you do buy from them make sure you have purchase protection ie PayPal or credit card because I don't know if they're...

    GPS trackers for bikes

I know that at any orange shop you could get a free sim card over the Web, bring it in and top it up for even 20p -perhaps you still can with ee.

Question re what conversion kit will allow slow-pedalling/give knees a rest

Although I think I'm going to try to lobby for some EU action on this because I cannot see the purpose of the wattage rating limit,at least I don't think it's a proportionate response, a rational means of achieving a legitimate goal, nor the least restrictive means, especially given top speed is...

Question re what conversion kit will allow slow-pedalling/give knees a rest

Does that mean that at 23a, 3a is just wasted, and if so is that at all speeds or just at full throttle? Yes the 500w looks perfect in principle. But I had a look at the solicitors' regulations today and proper criminal convictions can lead to being forbidden from practicing, and I reckon a...
