Just to add a quick prior step to the wiring check Nealh recommends, is to see whether the coloured wires on all of the controller /component connectors match up properly - could be someone's taken a connector off and put it back on wrong.

I don't think the EU have competence over the definition of a motor vehicle,and less so for the purposes of this strictly UK piece of consumer legislation. Even if they did it would be limited and would give a 'margin of appreciation' to member states, and would specify minimum not maximum...

Bought! I urge my Pedelecs compadres to take a look as this is an amazing bargain. You're saving £60+ over sourcing it yourself, the £60+ being the cost of the rim and wheelbuild (excluding the time of sourcing the build). Plus you get UK support and warranty.

It is a cargo bike which is quite interesting. I think you could probably carry 50 kilos of lithium batteries and a generator and still have room for a couple of children! And a robot nanny of course. Am I mixing it up with a bakfiets?

Because you can't buy such a bike. Woosh occupy a unique price niche and don't have competitors making similarly lightweight bikes at that price point. Currently if you want an 18.5kg ebike with good parts for £850 -or anywhere near - you're forced to convert.

I don't think the Karoo looks unreliable or weak and yet it is also cheap and lightweight. I was just pointing out that there is no reason other than looks to have those forks.
