Just took the seatpost and saddle right out and looked down the tube and the insert has been snapped off by the seatpost! The saddle wasn't even on the lowest mark tho?! Will speak to bike shop tomorrow, but is this a normal thing to happen? PS, bike was purchased fully assembled.

There's quite a few of us on here now, who have the 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500, and I don't think I've heard anybody regretting it yet. I've not even heard of the other one you are thinking about. I wanted to stay mainstream so got the Cube, and it's fab :)

How is everyone managing to mount their water bottle cage? The bottom mounting hole is fine on mine, but the top seems to be a solid fitting with no thread?! I thought it may just be full of paint, but it's not - there's metal underneath the paint??!

I haven't done yet - I'm gonna see how I use the bike first. The ones that are on it now aren't too bad on the road - as someone said above, these knobblies have a solid centerline, so roll quite well, just gotta be careful on the corners!

Hmmm, NEC cycle show, that's quite tempting actually! I've not used bike lights before, but I do use head torches all the time (no electricity where I keep the horses), so am interested in LED/battery technology. Shame there's no output on the battery like on some of the other bikes :(
